Hayley Hall (36) is a brand consultant and blogger who lives in Buckinghamshire. She is a midi skirt and dress gal at heart who loves floral prints and vibrant colours. Hayley is a Modern Classic dresser who likes to mix retro and romantic touches into her style. Her stunning blue eyes and red locks are just as signature as her marvelous collection of skirts and frocks.

“I’ve definitely honed my style and learned not to force things that are ‘on-trend’ if they don’t suit my shape; comfort really is key as you get older, rather than spending most of the day holding together a too-small wrap dress or almost falling over in shoes that give you blisters. I’ve learned to embrace my small waist and big hips through midi dresses and skirts, that investing in handbags will make any outfit look expensive, and that nobody should be afraid of patterns. I guess my style could be described as classically elegant, but without being overly girlie — I adore patterns, florals and floaty fabrics, but I like to toughen them up with different textures and accessories.”

Florals are Hayley’s fashion go-to and she rocks them like it’s nobody’s business. Here ’s wearing a full midi skirt with amazing ditsy floral pattern in gorgeous pinks, reds and blues on a black background. For a cool Spring day she’s paired it with a cosy sweater in a light grey that doesn’t match but works well with the skirt colours. Tucking the oversized sweater showcases the high waist of the skirt and lengthens the leg line from the hips upward. White sneakers add an on-trend sporty touch. The black leather moto jacket creates touch edge by cleverly juxtaposing the romantic floral print. A blush chain-strap shoulder bag picks up the pink in the skirt.

Hayley was thrilled to find this wrap dress that works great for a curvy figure. The striking floral print in shades of yellow and blue accentuate our blogger’s blue eyes and red hair. Design details like the black contrast waist tie and flared three-quarter sleeves add visual interest. The tie closure emphasizes Hayley’s waist while providing extra support and keeping the wrap style in place all day. The slip peeking out from the neckline adds subtle allure: it’s Hayley’s secret weapon to feel comfortable and confident all day while minimising static. She keeps the finishing touches neutral with nude block heel sandals, a simple necklace and straw circular bag with wood handle.

A leopard print dress makes quite the style stament, especially when it comes in an unexpected colour like this pink and black number. The self tie on this gorgeous pleated shirtdress accentuates our blogger’s waist, while the blouson sleeves add feminine charm. Black velvet ankle boots create textural interest. So do the black sheer hose that minimize horizontal lines because they’re the same colour as the footwear. The jauntily tilted black beret bookends the boots and provides a touch of retro Parisian sass. A structured black satchel with metal stud trim and soft pink lipstick finish off the look.

A head-to-toe neutral look with cheery colourful accents. Hayley wears a greige empire-waist dress that hits her just above the knee. The green embroidered waistband and red trim on the neckline and flutter sleeves add a fun pop of colour. The horizontal band emphasizes the narrowest part of the torso, then the fabric floats away from the body — a breezy silhouette for hot days. The buttons on the lower part of the dress and boho-esque oversized tassels draw the eye up and down. The tassels on the rose gold slide sandals cleverly echo the ones on the dress. A circle basket bag fits the Summery vibe perfectly. The finishing touch is Hayley’s polished make-up with soft reddish-brown lippy that complements her red locks.

Another stunning floral frock! This one with a darker colour palette of mustard, tan, purple and cream, which makes it perfect for Fall and Winter. This statement midi dress has a flattering V-neckline and elasticated waist to give it shape and structure. Hayley pairs the dress with cognac suede booties that echo the mustard in the dress. A textured tan shoulder bag with gold chain strap subtly adds another colour into the mix. Once again Hayley uses a black leather biker jacket to toughen up the floral pattern and create some edge. Simple bangles, impeccable make-up and our blogger’s signature hair are all that’s needed to complete this polished casual look.

When asked which F/W 2019 trend she is looking forward to the most, Hayley said:

“Yellow is set to be huge this year, and I’m excited to see different shades of mustard and lemon take over the high street. I think yellow chunky knits look amazing with denim, but also investing in a statement houndstooth yellow coat will instantly update every look and ensure you look like you’ve made a serious effort; my favourite thing to do in autumn is to wear all black and then chuck on a punchy overcoat!”

Hayley casualizes a dressy lace midi skirt by wearing it with a cream knit sweater, which also adds cosy warmth on cool Spring days. The elegant full midi skirt is almost ankle length and a delicious shade somewhere between blush and apricot. Tucking the fluid-fit sweater creates structure and lengthens the leg line. Pairing it with ankle-strap pointy-toe flats in a low-contrast shade of blush does the same. Choosing a bag in a third shade of blush with antique gold chain strap creates extra outfit depth. A classic trench in stone with pink undertones is a great option if you’re after a dressy topper that works well for in-between weather. Rosy-peach lipstick and polished make-up complete the look.
