Combining a graphic T-shirt with a blazer, pair of trousers or jeans, fun footwear and hip handbag is a timeless combination. The items that evolve the fastest with the trends are the silhouettes of the bottoms and the style of the footwear. You can also choose a tailored or boxy jacket silhouette. The trendier those items are, the more you’ll change up the vibe of the outfit formula.

GUCCI Cropped Stretch-jersey Flared Pants

The outfit on the model combines cropped flared pants with printed tee, checked blazer, and platform boots. I’ve used a Spring palette, but feel free to choose any colours. The tops and bottoms of the ensemble can be mixed and matched with each other, with either blazer, with either bag, and with any of the shoes. You can create anything from a neutral outfit with one pattern, right through to a colourful outfit with several patterns. Take your pick.

Here are the components of the ensemble:

Trendy Bottoms: Think wide cropped jeans or trousers, flared or straight crops, embroidered jeans, culottes, bell-bottoms, boyfriend jeans, slouchy trousers, or ankle pants. Choose a solid or a pattern. If the trendy bottoms aren’t your cup of tea, go with a modem classic like bootcut jeans, skinnies, straight legs, or throw in a tube or pencil skirt.

Graphic T-Shirt: Choose a fun graphic tee with a pattern, panel print, or slogan. The point here is to NOT wear a solid top.

Blazer: Choose a solid or patterned blazer in a tailored, fluid or oversized fit. Choose neutrals or colours. Think checks, florals, stripes or pinstripes for the pattern.

Footwear: Choose a pair of shoes that works with the silhouette of the bottoms. Go neutral, metallic, or throw in red shoes

Accessories: Finish off the look with a bag that works with the outfit. A colour blocked bag is a fun addition. A solid or patterned scarf is optional. Add jewellery, eyewear and watch as desired.
