Spring and Summer collections are in full swing, and shop floors are looking great. I’m VERY happy to see more retailers offer extended sizes. Thank you White House Black Market, Nordstrom, Ann Taylor, Ralph Lauren, the Loft, Rachel Roy, Banana Republic, Boden, Madewell, and Anthropologie.
These items were winners on clients last week, and many are available in plus sizes, although you may need to click through to the plus size section to see the full set of sizes. White jeans that are thick, substantial, and don’t look like leggings have been a hard find. But thankfully, they’re surfacing a few styles at a time.
- White House Black Market Petite Three Quarter-Sleeve Lace-Detail Tee: A SUPER soft rayon tee that feels gorgeous against the skin. It's gently tailored but not clingy. The teal is nice if you enjoy wearing muddy colours. Available in extended sizes.
- White House Black Market Floral-Print Full Midi Skirt: Gorgeous Modern Retro skirt with a high longevity factor. Make sure you have the top to wear with it. Does not crease, and lovely in motion. Size down a size. Available in extended sizes.
- Talbots Striated Denim Shift: Super cute denim dress that can double as a tunic. Works well on a broader shoulder line. Suits a range of body types but is not the best fit on a pear shape. It's a SHIFT dress and NOT tailored at the waist. Ignore the review that says it's shapeless because it's supposed to fit straight on the waist. Available in extended sizes.
- White House Black Market Long-Sleeve Allover Lace Top: Super cute ivory lace top with an oh-so-coveted V-neckline. Sleeves are not annoying. Nice fluid fit. Works on a range of body types. It's not as nice in black. Size down. Available in extended sizes.
- White House Black Market Reversible Woven Cami: It looks skimpy, but has lovely coverage in the right places. Fab under a cardigan or jacket. Reversible. Size down.
- White House Black Market Gingham Trench Coat: Fun gingham coat that works best on a defined waist, and regular or long-length torso. Gorgeous quality. Size down. Available in extended sizes.
- White House Black Market Short-Sleeve High-Low Wrap Dress: This dress id FABULOUS on those who can fill it out. It moves beautifully in motion and is awfully elegant and pretty. It comes with a self-fabric slip which screams "quality" and attention to detail. Works on most body types who like to define their waist. The V-neckline balances out a short waist. Size down. Can absolutely work on petites.
- White House Black Market Sleeveless Lace Sheath Dress: Try this dress if you love purple, have a longer waist and enjoy sheaths. It's gorgeous, and an elegant length. Works on a curvier figure. PLEASE don't cover it up with a cardigan or jacket unless it's a coat for outside.
- White House Black Market Cap-Sleeve Lily-Print Sheath Dress: This dress works well on a curvier hourglass. Fresh and Summery. Nice fabric.
- INC International Concepts I.N.C. Printed Side-Tie Wrap Dress, Created for Macy's: An excellent wrap style for a petite hourglass. Comes in black and is very easy to wash and wear. Breezy.
- INC International Concepts I.N.C. Lace-Trim Open-Front Topper Cardigan, Created for Macy's: The prettiest cardigan of the season. The lace adds textural interest and the ruched sleeves are practical. Fab over sheath dresses that need coverage, and as good with pants and jeans. A skimming fit that works on a range of body types. Comes in black.
- Lauren Ralph Lauren Super Stretch Premier Straight Jeans: Thick, substantial, looks like jeans and not leggings, and not too high on the waist. Works on a curvier figure. There is a also a curvy version for a very curvy body type. Read the rave reviews.

- ASTR THE LABEL Ruffle Sleeve Wrap Top: Blouse that's best on those who can fill it out with a larger bust and broader shoulder line. Surprisingly streamlined for being "a lot of blouse". Read the rave reviews.
- J.Crew J.Crew Merino Wrap Sweater: Nice wrap top for a skirt or pair of culottes. Needs a camisole. Lots of colours. Size down.
- UNIQLO Women Lace Sleeveless T-shirt: A good layering piece for under a blazer. Works on a range of body types.
- Talbots Denim Slim Ankle - Curvy Fit/Colored: Thick fabric and a good fit for a curvier body type and wider calf. Jeans, not jeggings,
- Helene Berman Rever Lapel Coat: Gorgeous Spring topper, and well made. Colour is a slightly more saturated lemon, so not so pastel in person. Works on a range of body types. Good fit. Quality item. Made in England. Earned a place in my wardrobe.
