You might not like to wear a white top on its own, but that doesn’t mean you shouldn’t have a selection of white tops in your wardrobe. White tops are excellent layering pieces because they ground hectic colour combinations, like bright purple with mint. They also add a Summer freshness to an outfit. And if you don’t know which colour to pair with a pair of bottoms, add a white top because it often works better than black.
- Bailey 44 'Waterloo' High/Low V-Neck Top: Drapey, Grecian and super on a curvy body type with a shorter neck. Or on a broad shoulder with a smaller bust. Marvelous waist definition in front, and voluminous party at the back.
- Lucky Brand Appliqué Yoke Top: Pretty Boho Chic. Best on slim arms because this style of cap sleeve can cut into the flesh and create "arm muffin top". Diagonal sleeves - which are cut longer and wider - work better on larger arms. Too short for tall gals unless it's partially tucked.
- Side Stitch Chambray Tunic: A comfy modern tunic. Best on a tall gal with slim bottoms.
- Chloe K Burnout High/Low Tee (Juniors): Easy, breezy and dramatic high-low swingy tee. Very sheer.
- Eileen Fisher Organic Linen A-Line Tee: A good piece for a short neck, larger bust, and apple shape figure. Works on petites.
- Trouvé Trouvé 'Easy' V-Neck Tee: A slightly shaped V-neck tee that's well suited to a curvy body like an hourglass or pear. Excellent layering piece. Works on petites.

- Eileen Fisher Classic Collar Stretch Cotton Shirt (Regular & Petite) (Online Only): Nice seaming details, curved hem, and shirttail. Great on an apple shaped figure with a short neck and small or regular shaped bust. Not good on a large bust. Boxy and fashionable.
- Rag & Bone 'Cassie' Open Stitch V-Neck Sweater: Slim-fit, sheer and delicate. Very breezy. Best on a broad shoulder line with a narrow frame.
- J Brand Ready-To-Wear 'Shannan' Linen Sweater: Soft round shoulders for a fashionable yet very casual touch. Works on many body types.
- Classiques Entier Diamond Jacquard Sweater: Polished, thick and very crisp. Great for business casual and a cold office.
- Nordstrom Collection Elbow Sleeve Cotton Pullover: Must have broad or very square shoulders to fill out this top, otherwise it will hang in an unflattering way. Cannot be layered under anything but a cape.
- Chelsea28 Floral Jacquard Sweater: Dressier than a sweatshirt and cotton-rich. Adds a pretty touch to a casual outfit.
- Sejour V-Neck High/Low Jersey Tunic (Plus Size): Theatrical, comfortable and very oversized. The high-low hem, tapered sleeves and V-neck provide just enough structure. Might run a little big. Best on tall gals.
- Eileen Fisher Organic Linen Ballet Neck Knit Top (Plus Size): Fluid, flattering, and fabulous over a tank top. Breezy, yet covered. Brilliant casual layering piece.
