I’ve been doing a fair bit of in-store and online shopping with clients the last few months. Spring is in the air, and people seem more than ready to get back into what life has to offer after a few years of dealing with the pandemic. Brights and pastels are everywhere, garnering a great reaction from my clientele. Yet, neutrals remain equally popular.
The items below have worked well on clients, forum members, or have great reviews. Lots of them are in natural fibres. Some are on sale. Be sure to browse the colour and size options.
- Sanctuary Cali Cargo Pants: These are VERY lightweight and great for a hot day when you prefer leg coverage. Roomy on the waist. On-trend.
- Sanctuary Cotton Blend Cali Cargo Pants: Very lightweight cotton pants, and a super cute way to use the tabs to shorten the length of the pants. Wider on the waist, and works well on apple-shaped body types.
- Massimo Dutti Leather heeled sandals - Massimo Dutti: Simple and chic Euro sandal FABNESS. Comes in brown and black.
- Ecco Cozmo Slide Sandal (Women): These work well as beach, pool, resort, and at-home slides. The adjustable velcro vamps allows them to fit low-volume feet such as mine quite well. Comfy. Supportive. I got them for my resort capsule. Come in black.
- Gap Lace Button-Up Midi Dress: A fabulous dress that works well on an apple-shaped body type. Semi-structured and pretty.
- FRAME Paneled High Waist Wide Leg Jeans: These are BIG, wide, LONG, and gorgeous. I love the fabric, which is neither rigid, nor overly soft. Fably opaque and not see-through. They work well on a defined waist. Plenty of room in the thighs. I sized up to achieve a slight fluid fit like the model. They've replaced a pair of old white boyfriend jeans that I've demoted to beach walking with the doggies. I LOVE these jeans. New faves.
- COMFORTIVA Faye: Very comfy cage sandals that come in an assortment of neutrals and neutral patterns. Sizes are available in all sorts of widths. Versatile.
- M&S Collection Pure Linen Animal Print Waisted Blouse: The beauty of this top lies in the gentle drawstring on the lower waist that allows you to give it some structure and a shorter length while wearing it UNTUCKED.
- Vince Camuto One-Button Blazer: Light Blue Classic Blazer Fabness. It has pants to match if you want to create a suit.
- Nic + Zoe All Day Slim Wide Crop Pants: Sturdy white wide cropped pants that are neither see-through nor too wide. They come in petites and in light blue.
- Madewell Women's Lightspun Button Front Tiered Midi Dress: Pretty Cotton Dress Fabness that comes in olive. Flattering and flowing. V-neck is in a nice position.
- Halogen Abstract Print Button-Up Shirt: This blouse has a lovely shape and statement cuffs. Its shorter length prevents it from feeling like a tent. Comes in a range of patterns.
- Caslon Stretch Organic Cotton Jacket: Lightweight Summer Topper Fabness. It's selling out fast.
- Nordstrom Oversize Cotton Poplin Midi Dress: If you like to wear roomy cotton shirt dresses, this one is appealing and comes in white. Works well worn as a dramatic tunic over pants.
- ELOQUII Ultimate Wide Leg Trousers: Fab navy pants at a fab price. The substantial fabric provides extra structure. Good on wider thighs.
- Banana Republic Laurel French-Cuff Shirt: Boxy Cropped Shirt Fabness. On-trend, comes in blue stripes, and solid white. Its shorter length adds a welcome bit of structure. Might need to size down.
- Old Navy Mid-Rise OG Loose Jean Cut-Off Shorts for Women -- 7-inch inseam: Easy Breezy Casual Denim Shorts. Good fit and price.
- Babaton agency cropped pant: Trousers made of STUNNING substantial fabric that creates an extra good fit. The length is very cropped, and can work well on petites. A more subtle wide crop than what we have been used to seeing. Best on a CURVY body type because the waist narrows quite a bit. Good room on the thighs. These have worked well on curvier clients who range from sizes US 0 to 14. Comes in neutrals. I am less curvy, and they work well on me too. I have them and love them. I have a cropped jacket to match that creates a suit.
- Polo Ralph Lauren Boxy Fit Cotton Blouson-Sleeve Shirt: Cinnamon Pop-over Shirt Fabness. Great quality and pretty sleeves.
- Banana Republic Rio Bonded Trench Coat: This trench coat comes in olive, and is well made. The fabric has a "stiff and rigid designer integrity" to it, which is either your cup of tea or not. It's long, dramatic, and unlined.
- Ecco Soft 7 Slip-On Sneaker: For several seasons now, these slip-on ECCOs make all sorts of clients happy. They fit a wider foot quite well if you size up half a size. They have removable insoles so you can add an orthotic. Comes in dark neutrals.
- Massimo Dutti Rustic frayed linen suit trousers - Massimo Dutti: These work well on a straighter body type, and aren't too high in the rise. Have a long blazer to match.
- Paloma Barcelo Abby Slide Sandal (Women): Strappy slides that are a lot more comfy than you might expect thanks to very soft leather. The sculptured heels are gorgeous.
- DKNY Women's Animal Print Matte Jersey Faux Wrap Top: Fab on curvy body types with a larger bust and narrower waist.
- DKNY Women's Abstract-Print V-Neck Sleeveless Shell Top: Super fab top to wear under a jacket. Neat, tidy, and stays put.
- Everlane The Riviera Dress: A sleeveless fit & flare with a low back and fab side entry pockets. BREEZY. Comes in black.
- Everlane The Organic Cotton Weekend Tank Dress: An easy-to-wear columned jersey dress that works well on an inverted triangle body type. Comes in a lovely tawny brown.
- Hobbs Bayview Dress: Hobbs dresses tend to feel silky and luxe. The waist belt here can be tied in the front or back. This waist might feel short if you are longer in the waist. This pattern is all about parrots.
- Nordstrom Cinched Waist Midi Dress: This dress works well on an inverted triangle body type. Lovely fabric. Elegantly easy, and you might need to size down.
- H&M Linen Tie-belt Dress: Breezy! Don't let the tie put you off. It can be worn more under the bust, or more loosely on the waist. Comes in a pastel lime.
- Old Navy High-Waisted StretchTech Cargo Wide-Leg Pants for Women: Cargos with wide legs that work well on curvier body types. The fabric feels "moisture wicking", and technical. Comes in four more neutrals, and talls.
- Naturalizer Banks Pump: Refined, pretty, cushioning, and comfortable slingbacks that work on a range of foot shapes, although you might need to size up half a size. Lots of colours.
- Nike Sportswear Phoenix High Waist Wide Leg Sweatpants: These are GREAT if you like to wear cosy and floppy, wide sweatpants. They come in neutrals and colours. I have them in the bubblegum pink, and they are my new favourite lounge pants. They are as long on me as on the model. I'm 5ft 6. They replaced 12-year-old lounge pants that ripped and fell apart.
