You are on Team Pastels if you prefer pastels to earth tones, and vice versa. Pastels include any pure colour that has been mixed with some amount of white. Some are light and delicate, while others are more saturated and almost a mid-tone. Think blush, ice pink, light blue, mint, lemon, sage, lilac, peach and light turquoise. Light blue denim counts as a pastel blue.
Earth tones are all sorts of spice colours, tans, browns, olives, very dark greens, mustards, brick reds, cognacs, brownish burgundies, and burnt oranges.
Here’s a collection that combines pastels and earth tones.
I wear some pastels, and a few earth tones. Light blue, light turquoise, and blush pink are my favourite pastels. Blush pink bags and shoes are wardrobe essentials for my style. I wear a bit of light blue denim too. My most recent eyewear is light turquoise and blush pink, so I guess I wear pastels every day. I have a very old leather jacket that is seafoam, but wish was light blue. It’s not the best colour on me, but I keep it because hubs Greg likes it.
I dabble in earth tones, with shades of toffee, caramel, a warm taupe, and a few old olive items. Currently I have these pastels and earth tones in my wardrobe. There are more pastels than earth tones. I bat for Team Pastels.
Over to you. Do you bat for Team Pastels or Team Earth Tones? Tell us why, and no batting for both teams. If you can’t pick a side or bat for neither team, you’re sitting this one out on the bench. I’m serving fried up and crispy cauliflower tortillas with spicy guacamole, a Greek salad with the BEST organic feta from Greece, sautéed shishito peppers, and crustless creamy leak quiche. Eaton mess for dessert.
If you’re in the US, we hope you’re having a peaceful, fab and fun long Labour Day weekend.
