This week’s assortment is a mixed bag of items across quieter colours and patterns. Some of them were winners on forum members and my clients, while others caught my eye and have received good reviews. Be sure to browse all the colour and size options.

  • Lyssé Estella Crop Wide Leg Pants: These are great as far as knitted pull-on pants go. Thick, substantial, and quite wide on the hems. Trendy and Katharine Hepburn-esque. VERY comfy, but do not resemble pyjamas. They will work particularly well on a longer rise and leg. Works on an assortment of straighter and curvier body types because the knit moulds to the body. They were almost mine, but found them too wide and big, and not worth altering because I prefer woven bottoms. The XS fits like a US2.
  • Gallery Long Quilted Parka with Faux Fur Trim: Chic Long Puffer Fabness. The diagonal stitching is visually slimming and the length is GREAT for skirts and dresses. Removable hood. Comes in black.
  • GOOD AMERICAN Drawcord Waist Blazer: A different type of velvet jacket with a defined drawstring waist for structure.
  • Karen Kane Studded Sleeve Blouse: A better than basic long sleeved tee with a vintage vibe. Good on Team Long Arms. Not clingy. Lovely quality.
  • Zara Water Repellent Puffer Jacket: Due to a laundry malfunction, I unexpectedly needed to replace a short navy puffer jacket (a workhorse wardrobe essential for my style). This is what I chose because it fits well, layers well under coats, is water repellent, has gold hardware, looks dressier than an athletic puffer, is well made, AND half of it consists of recycled polyester. Zara is a more sustainable retailer than you might expect, and a much more affordable one. This cost $50. Furthermore, my other Zara jackets are 5 and 8 years old and look great. Zara might not do fab quality knits, but they generally make well-made woven jackets. Keeping these jackets for longer because of superior quality is sustainable too. The fit is on the narrower side, and goes up to an XXL. Gorgeous rich shade of navy.
  • Karen Kane Leopard Print Twist Front Top: A shorter fluid top that you can wear out over skirts and higher rises instead of needing to tuck a longer top to create structure. Soft, cosy, and might run big.
  • Karen Kane Tie Dye Long Sleeve Handkerchief Hem Dress: Easy Tie-Dye Dress Fabness for Team Olive & Black. Fab on an assortment of body types because the fit skims and moves. Very comfy. Substantial knit.
  • Ariat Women's Heritage Lacer II Western Cowboy Boot: Excellent sturdy riding boots that come in a shade of cognac. Good support, insulation and cushioning. Very robust, flexible and comfy. The elastic insert on the ankle keeps things comfy and tailored. I think the kiltie is removable.
  • Linea Paolo Trinity Boot: A NON-BLACK stompy combat boot with a refined edge. The laces allow for a more forgiving fit. Soft, comfy and a little different. Comes in black.
  • Birkenstock Zermatt Genuine Shearling Lined Slipper: Supportive and warm slippers for Team Birkenstock. They are NOT as supportive as regular Birkies though. Flatter footbed. Comes in solids and patterns .
  • UGG Phoebe Wrap Cardigan: A cosy wrap to wear at home while you relax or work. Comes in neutral solids.
  • Honeydew Intimates All American Pajamas: My favourite lounge pants are by Honeydew Intimates so I trust the brand. Soft, comfy, and flattering. Great quality. My pants are 6 years old and look new. This set comes in solids and patterns.
  • Madewell Tie Dye Puff Sleeve Sweater: A trendy 100% cotton pullover for Team Lilac. The fit is fluidly structured and pouffy on the sleeves. Love the polished welt.
  • Madewell Plaid Paperbag Tapered Pants: A good pair of earthy micro checked pants that work well on a longer waist and rise. Good on a curvier bottom half. Wear them casually with sneakers.
  • Frye Women's Billy Inside Zip Bootie Western Boot: Frye boots are excellent quality and versatile Trendy Classics that look good, and go the distance. Their classic and simple cowboy boot appeals to me so I ordered these in pale pink because I've had casual pale pink boots on my shopping list for years. I love the heel height. I improved the fit and comfort with a cushioning insole. They are not for wide feet because of the pointy toe. The ankle fit is quite tailored and does not dig into you as you stride. I'm thinking about whether they will earn a place in my wardrobe. Comes in seven neutrals.
  • Theory Treeca 4 Plaid Crop Pants: Theory does a great job with plaid pants in wool blends. These are mid-rise and work better on a straighter figure. Streamlined but not clingy. The fabric is gorgeously substantial, but might be a little scratchy. I found them scratchy, but am in the minority. Darker in person.
  • TRUE AND CO FRYE AND CO.: Simple and comfy Trendy Classic Chelsea boots that look neat and tidy on the foot. Better on lower volume feet. Comes in three more neutrals.
  • Billabong Go Along Midi Skirt: A knitted midi that moulds to the body giving straight hips a bit of curve.
  • Boden Cornelia Cord Dress: A great little casual corduroy dress to wear with tights and boots. Especially good on petites, and comes in cinnamon. Easy to top with a coat.
  • Boden Caitlin Jersey Midi Dress: Fabulous dress on Team Tall with broad shoulders and a regular size bust. Gorgeous drape and comfortable to wear. Not as clingy as it looks. Comes in a warmer colour combination.
  • Gap Downtown Printed Jacket: A fitted FLORAL puffer jacket in a moody floral is hard to find. Super cute, streamlined, nice heavy weight double zipper, and has leggings to match. Might run small if you prefer a wider fit. It comes in a peachy pink colourway too.
  • Naot Polaris High Top Sneaker: Noats tend to work well on higher volume feet that like support. Very comfy and great quality. These maximal darlings are available in a toffee and zebra too.
  • Oroblu Roses Knee Highs: Patterned knee-highs are very fun, especially when you prefer wearing a range of textures to a range of colours. These come in a warm brown.
  • Boden Water Bottle: Not a quiet pattern item, but fun and different if you like dots and yellow. I want it.
