Earlier this week, we spoke about how to create an outfit that combines black with a pastel like blush pink. The variations depended on variables like your hair colour, and whether you preferred a less harsh statement by adding accent colours like shades of white, grey, blue denim and silver.
The outfit on the far left here is an outfit that I wear based on this colour palette. The exact items are represented in the collection. As a blonde, I prefer to add a bit of white to the outfit to soften the palette and bring out the lightness in my hair.
Here are three easy ways to pull together blush with black to get your creative juices flowing.
Black Bottoms, Blush Top & Support Act
Combine a pair of black trousers, jeans, harem pants, cropped pants, culottes or shorts with a blush shirt, tee, blouse or pullover that works with the vibe of the bottoms. Choose black, white or silver footwear to complement the silhouette of the bottoms. Choose a black, white, blush or silver bag.
Black Skirt, White Top & Blush Topper
Combine a white (or light grey) top with a black skirt or pair of culottes, and top the lot off with a blush jacket, coat or cardigan. Add black, silver, white or cream footwear that works with the style of the skirt. Choose a black, white, blush or silver bag.
Black Top, Blue Jeans & Blush Topper
Combine a black shirt, tee, blouse or pullover with blue jeans and top the lot off with a blush jacket, coat or cardigan. Finish off the look with black or silver footwear, and bag to match. Add jewellery, eyewear and watch as desired.
I LOVE the graphic, yet romantic integrity of these outfits and really want to get a blush wool coat this year. Remember that white pearls work well as the shade of white that you add to the outfit to soften the palette.
