Here’s a gentle reminder to replenish your wardrobe basics capsule after giving it a quick edit. Wardrobe basics include underpants, bras, camis, thermal undies, shapewear, leggings, sleepwear, loungewear, socks, hosiery and workout wear. Although many of these items are not visible components of your outfits, they are workhorses that deserve your attention and a component of your budget at least once a year.

Attack the overly full sock drawer. Edit the demoted t-shirt pile that you use for sleepwear. Get rid of undies that are uncomfortable. Pass on bras that don’t fit. Make sure you have sleepwear and loungewear that ticks the boxes. Make sure your workout wear still works for your workouts.

It makes all the difference when you wear comfortable and great fitting bras, knickers, and camisoles. You physically feel better, and your clothes drape and fall better too. If you have procrastinated replenishing your bra and bralette capsule, try to get it done. I empathize with how tedious, time consuming and expensive it can be, and wish it was different. But it’s worth the effort and expense when you have great bras that go the distance. Also, once it’s done, you’re off the hook for a while because you can simply re-order an existing wardrobe basic when it wears out. Bonus!

I did a big bra shop last year and found some styles that are working out perfectly. I bought a few more of my favourite bras last month. I’m good on sleepwear, loungewear, thermals, socks, hosiery and yoga wear. The cotton panties with lace trim that I like are discontinued. I bought up every last pair in my size a year ago, but will need to find a replacement at some point. I could do with a few extra camisoles too.

When did you last edit and replenish your basics? Which basics are on your shopping list? If you’re looking for items you can’t find, feel free to ask questions in the comments section or on the forum and let’s get you sorted.
