Editing one’s wardrobe is a common task around this time of year. Cleaning out the contents of your closets, dressers, and drawers by deciding what to keep, store in a holding zone, pass on, alter, fix, consign, recycle, and upcycle is a very satisfying process that can make you feel organized and in control of your style. While you’re at it, you might find ways to store items in a more efficient manner, or note the items that need replacing and are missing. I’ve written many posts on closet editing, some of which you can recap here, and here, and here.

I don’t do a seasonal wardrobe edit. Instead, I do frequent smaller edits whenever necessary. As a result it’s a fast and efficient process. For example, I recently edited my knitwear capsule. I also cleaned my capsule of white and blush sneakers, which was quite the task because it’s almost half of my footwear collection. I removed the laces, washed them in OxiClean, and scrubbed the sneakers until the soles gleamed. Once they were dry, and the laces re-threaded, I smiled at my collection of crisp and pristine wardrobe workhorses that are wonderfully kind to my feet.

Over to you. Are you Spring-cleaning your wardrobe in some way, or do you plan to in the near future?
