Brand new Spring 2015 collections have started to hit the stores. Retailers have opened up with tomato red, citron, shades of blue and fresh patterns. Of course, there are plenty of other colours so be sure to browse through the options.
- 1.State Collarless Crop Jacket: Unlined, crisp and lightweight. A boxy trapeze style that looks especially fun from the side. Keep the front unzipped to create vertical integrity down the front of the outfit. Fresh and a little Retro.
- Trouvé Trouvé Grosgrain Trim Top: The subtle V-neck at the BACK of the garment is gorgeous, and adds a super detail to this blouse. Best worn unlayered or under a cape or poncho. Excellent on a larger bust and shorter neck.
- Topshop Floral Scuba Cigarette Trousers: Despite being 100% polyester, these pants are divine. They are brushed on the inside which makes them super comfortable and soft. They fit really well if you like high rises, and are fairly straight from the waist to the hip. The best part about them is that the pattern does not distort and lighten after stretching across the thigh and calf. Excellent with a taller ankle bootie and tucked top to lengthen the leg line. Runs small and narrow.
- Hinge 'Poodle' Shawl Collar Cardigan: The coziest BIG cardigan I have ever tried on. A happy colour for a stay at home style.
- Topshop Windowpane Boyfriend Blazer: Hello '90s. A long unlined soft blazer that's quite well made. The small lapel, length, lack of structure and windowpane pattern make the piece look fresh. Runs small.
- Topshop Floral Print Sweater: A fashion forward piece with voluminous, round shoulders. It's made of a heavy crepe so it has lots of body, good drape and is fairly warm. A good piece to pair with black bootcut trousers or slim fit wool pants as we transition into Spring.
- BCBGMAXAZRIA 'Kristina' Stripe Eyelet Fit & Flare Dress: A flattering fit-and-flare frock. Lined and lightweight. The direction of the chevron stripes visually narrows the waist and slims down hips. Runs small.
- Vince Camuto 'Modern Structure' Print Front Blouse: This blouse looks better in person. It drapes beautifully from the back and side. Fab worn over tight bottoms like leather leggings, cigarette pants or skinny jeans.
- Vince Camuto 'Animal Rocks' Front Fold Blouse (Regular & Petite): Gorgeously blouson-y. I love this style with bootcuts and flared leg pants or jeans. Flowing with just enough structure.
- Two by Vince Camuto Hooded Denim Jacket: Sporty Luxe fabness.
- Two by Vince Camuto Contrast Trim Camo Print Sweater (Regular & Petite): A subtle camouflage pattern in fresh Spring tones. Best on a larger bust and shorter neck.
- Vince Camuto Border Stripe V-Neck Sweater: Fashionable, oversized and fun. A cricket jersey with lots of spunk.
- Vince Camuto Midi Tube Skirt: A tube skirt that's easy to pair with high-low blouses, drape front blouses and knitwear.
- Vince Camuto One-Button Stretch Cotton Blazer: A crisp cotton blazer in a cut that's roomier than tailored. Fluidly fashionable.
- Vince Camuto Gridded Crewneck Sweater: Crisp, texture-rich and fresh. The fabric has lots of body and is a touch sporty.
- Helmut Lang 'Villous' Zip Front Sweatshirt: A tried and tested knit moto jacket with asymmetrical hem. Looks great worn open too. Read the rave reviews.
- ELLIOTT LUCCA 'Medium Faro' Leather Satchel: A little aqua to brighten up your day. Fab with grey, citron and white. Or with denim and tomato red.
- Topshop 'Hex' Faux Leather Tote: An easy and affordable tote. Good for casual settings or as an extra bag for travel.
- French Connection 'Spectrum' Foldover Clutch: A dear little bling clutch with a paper bag foldover top. Dress it up or down.
- Topshop Inverted Pleat Midi Skirt: A fashion forward neoprene A-line skirt. The fabric is lined with fleece so it's very soft against the skin despite looking stiff and hard in the picture. Wear it with a cropped pullover or tucked blouse.
- Kate Spade New York balloon print mixed media sweater: A silk front sweater with a festive air balloon pattern. Dapes beautifully and is soft to the touch. Runs small.
- Helene Berman Animal Pattern Dolman Sleeve Coat: A Spring cocoon coat to wear over roomy knitwear. Might need to size down a size. Lightweight and sassy.
- Helene Berman Ikat Jacquard Double Breasted Coat: A Spring or early Summer cocoon topper to wear over oversized tops. The sleeves are wide and dramatic so consider yourself warned. The fabric is crisp to the touch. Might run a size big.
- Two by Vince Camuto 'Chevron Beans' Peasant Blouse: A pretty peasant blouse that's well structured on top. It has subtle citron parts in the pattern which liven up the black and white.
- Sam Edelman Packable Floral Print Down Jacket: A fun short floral puffer jacket. Very lightweight, cozy, packable and great for Spring walks.
- Sam Edelman Back Zip Raglan Top: Muscle top fabness with '80s flair. The rolled neckline is unique and so is the brushstroke pattern. Wear it on its own, or layered over a shirt or tee.
- Classiques Entier Short Sleeve Mock Neck Pullover: A stunning updated modern classic for Team Turtlenck. Beautifully refined and gently fluid. It's very soft and does not itch. I love how the short back zip creates a very tight fit around the neck. Comes in four colours.
- Free People 'Dark Horse' Pointy Toe Bootie (Women): A rugged yet refined cream bootie. It's quite comfortable and has a good ankle fit for smaller ankles.
Two of these items followed me home. The black short sleeved mock turtleneck is a no-brainer wardrobe essential that I can pair with trousers, jeans and skirts. I might consider duplicating the same style in white or turquoise. But the floral scuba cigarette trousers are an unexpected purchase because of their high rise and cropped length (more tomorrow about why they worked for me). These two items, as long as I partially or fully tuck the top, actually look great together.
