TopShop Window Pane Jacket- Review

The TopShop jacket came the other day but I did not have time to open the box. Today I did and I am disappointed. The size 14 fits me well and I really like the fabric, but I am so disappointed in the seaming. Seams that do not match on plaid or large checked fabrics drive me bonkers. The front of the jacket is fine but when I raise my arms or moved them in any way I saw what you see below. It is going back. If this issue does not bother you like it does me, I recommend the jacket.

I agree, and same for stripes. I've tried on many a top or jacket or sweater in a fun stripe or plaid, and the lesser brands don't match the pattern. I thought it would not matter on some types of simple T's, but it did matter by often making me feel like the item looked sort of cheaply manufactured (whatever the price). That feeling was enough to take away the fun of the pattern.
I love that gray windowpane and agree it's so disappointing. It would bother me.

I would do the same as you did. I really like the pattern but couldn't accept the mismatched plaid. I can see a jacket like this looking fantastic on you; hope you find one soon with better quality tailoring.

It would bother me, too, Deb. I do have a pair of plaid jeans where they do not match on the side, but it is very dark and subtle and only in the place where the jeans taper, so I figured it was acceptable. Otherwise it would irritate me.

Yes, I have come to expect the worse with things like pattern matching from chain stores and then be happy when I am occasionally pleasantly surprised.

It really shows on the side seams and would bother me too. Too bad. It's a cute jacket.

Wow. It's almost so mismatched it's like they did it on purpose for some sort of statement. Yeah, I couldn't take that either. Too bad since the idea is a good one.

Tbh I've been underwhelmed with Topshop stuff. I know it's a goto brand in the UK but the items that I've seen are H&M quality at a much higher price. I don't get it.
