Team Bath or Team Shower

You are on Team Bath if you prefer to run water into a tub and have a good soak. You are on Team Shower if you prefer the drizzle of a relaxing shower. In some instances you may prefer a shower but only have a bathing facility, or vice versa. No worries. Bat for the Team that is your bathing preference no matter what.

I am on Team Shower by a million percent. I do not enjoy soaking in a tub at all. Ironically I do not find it relaxing. I love feeling the constant drizzle of hot water over my skin while I shower — and find that relaxing.

Over to you. Are you on Team Bath or on Team Shower? And just because it’s sunny outside (which has been a rarity this year in our neck of the woods), you can bat for both Teams if you wish.

Team shower! I am too tall for traditional baths. Also, sitting in your own…filth(?) is gross. I’d have to shower AND clean the tub beforehand.

Oh goodness, absolutely team shower! My morning is not complete without it, and a rushed shower puts me in a bad mood for hours. There is one caveat, though — I do enjoy a hot bath before bed on nights when my apartment won’t warm up. Sends me straight to sleep.

Team shower. I rarely bathe – typically only when I am really sore from a workout or a massage (in which case I take an Epsom Salt bath to soothe the muscles) or when I have a cold (in which case I put my special German cold bath stuff in the tub).

I’ll bat for both. Shower is a daily ritual, but I occasionally enjoy a soak in a hot tub at night in the winter. Sometimes it’s the only way I can get truly warm.

For getting clean and ready in the morning, team shower all the way.
but like Michelle, there is nothing like a nice soak in a hot tub with a glass of wine and candles at the end of a long day.

So really, showers and baths serve 2 completely different functions for me.

I bat for both also. Showering is a necessity for getting ready in a relatively quick time, but I consider bathing a luxury and a nice, maybe romantic wind down time (same as Queen Mum).

A bath sounds relaxing, but it’s not comfortable, the water cools down too quickly and I don’t like just sitting there. A long hot shower is way more relaxing.

Team Shower. The only time I take a bath is after skiing all day to warm up; a glass of wine also helps!

100% Team Shower. Sorry if this is un-PC, but I basically view baths as soaking in your own filth. Showers are cleaner to me. it doesn’t help that the handful of times I’ve taken a bath – and it has been about 15 years since my last bath – I’ve ended up with a UTI.

Also, bath salts, oils and various other additives make me nervous about skin reactions. If my feet are really desperate I would consider a warm soak with some kind of salt. Otherwise no baths.

But when I was small, and up until around age 13, I adored long baths. You don’t want to know how long I spent in there, hehee. I can’t believe I didn’t turn into a prune.

Team Both! Team Shower for getting clean only. I don’t find them relaxing at all, probably because they tend to occur early in the morning when I’m rushing to work.

I’m 100% Team Bath for relaxing. An old clawfoot tub has the perfect slanted roll-back for resting my neck, with bubbles wafting around in the air, classical music on the iPod and a good magazine in my hand (do I sound as nerdy as I think I do?!) I dearly love a bath, especially on a cold winter evening when I feel frozen to the bone. I hop out looking like a boiled shrimp:)

Team bath, but I never soak — before bed, I often turn on the tub, get in, wash my face using the running water, and finish washing as the tub fills up. Usually I’m done by the time it’s half full, unless I’ve got a lot of shaving to do. I still have showers when I need to wash my hair though.

My mom used to get in the bath with a book and soak in there while reading, and I always thought it was the weirdest thing, but apparently lots of women do this. My mom said she liked it because it was the one place in the house she could relax and no one would come and interrupt.

Shower, hands down. I don’t like baths. I love the gentle massage of water sprinkling down on me. The stagnant water of a bath sort of grosses me out, and I don’t like the feeling of it just soaking into me.

Totally Team Shower. Can’t remember the last time I took a bath, I don’t find them terribly comfy or relaxing. I do like to soak my feet sometimes, but I usually do that in the sink

Team shower for sure. Baths feel sweaty and stagnant to me, and I don’t feel clean or refreshed at all after a bath. Plus, baths tend to make me feel dizzy and lightheaded.

Team shower. The type of tub can make a big difference though. My SIL has an old tub that’s deep with a back at the perfect slant. If she ever moves that old tub will have to go with her. She soaks at least once a day.

Both! I love a good long shower in the morning to wake up and get ready for the day, but if I’ve had a rough work day or – a big workout, I also love to soak in a nice, hot tub with my special bath salts.

Definitely Team Shower. Admittedly I wish I /had/ a tub, or at least a bigger space to shower in, but that weird floaty feeling of sitting in a full bathtub just wigs me out.

So happy we can bat for both teams on this one, as it’s the first time I’ve really felt the need to do so.

I’m 100% team shower in the morning and for getting “woken up” for the day. However, I’m 100% team bath when it’s time to relax, or if I’m feeling stressed and need to think. Like many have said, they serve completely different purposes and I love both.

So, Team Both!

Hmmm I love both, for different things but if I had the time I would always vote for team bath except when it comes to washing for convienience only.

I don’t have a bath in this apartment and I really miss that on cold winters nights. There is nothing better than a lazy soak with a bath bomb, a book and a glass of wine and then jumping into bed. The next place I move into will have one for sure!!!

Team Shower. I end up finishing with a shower when I take a bath. I don’t know how else I can get rid of the soap. Also, I’m too lazy for the clean up after a bath. Takes too long.

100% team shower. I only take a bath once a year at most, usually as an attempt to recover from some kind of injury.

The only exception to this was when I was studying in South Africa and baths were the only option. And by bath, I mean a pot full of boiling hot water poured into the tub, with just enough cold water added to make sitting in it tolerable, so maybe 3-4″ of water at the deepest end of the tub. Or in my other homestays, a bucket bath. Neither were that bad, but I left the country with a renewed appreciation for showers!

After a day fighting the garden I love a nice deep bath to ease the aches & pains – this may be an age thing. I don’t understand this ‘ stagnant water – ‘ sitting in your own filth ‘ thing . How dirty are you ladies ?

I’m on team shower! I only take baths when I’m really sick, maybe four times a year or so. Sadly I don’t have a nice shower, I only have a tub in my bath, with a shower curtain. But that’s the standard in old buildings in Berlin, you very often only get a tub and no shower.

Is there a team Hammam out there?

Well I definitively am a team bath by nature and would spend my life in baths of all kinds if I could. Traditional with candles and luxury soap, jacuzzi, Turkish, steam, sauna with icy baths, and, of course, the best of the best: Hammam, in which you lay on a stone table in a humid room, are intermittently splashed with buckets of warm water, are meticulously scrubbed free from your dead skin from head to toe, after having been smeared in “black soap”, a greasy, olive oil based low foam paste.

Unfortunately I lead a life irreconcilable with my hedonistic inclinations

So in real life, I’m regrettably a team shower…

Team Both. Showers for daily washing and the massaging effect on sore muscles, plus I always feel invigorated after a nice shower. Baths are great for back pain and it’s the only way for me to warm up quickly when I’m frozen to the bone. I’m not one for lounging in the tub for hours though, I usually get tired of it after ten minutes or so, still, I do miss my tub…

I don’t like sitting in water, and I get bored, too. Plus it feels like so much water going down the drain !
I have a bathtub and it’s just a big waste of space, except for hand-washing clothes.

Team Shower at this point in my life. Mainly because I need to shower in the morning to wake myself up.
But prekids, right though first pregnancy and especially as a teenager I loved soaking in a bath with a book. If our ensuite had a bath I might be inclined to do it again.

Team Shower for sure. We have a huge garden tub, but I just can’t get into soaking in it for long. I start thinking of all the things I could be doing and I get anxious and have to get out. A shower is different, I think the moving water must give me the feeling of doing something.

Team both. The shower is more practical – especially for long hair. But the tub is more enjoyable. I will admit we installed a 2 person corner jetted tub in the downstairs bath and it’s been dubbed “Mo’s tub” from day one. As a matter of fact, whenever we go on a trip home one of the first things I do is enjoy a nice soak and some relaxing jets on my back in the tub!

I forgot to add that I even have a ‘wine bell’ that is just a different doorbell chime that sits in the downstairs bath and my BF will bring me a glass when I ring – I know how spoiled is that?! It’s all in good fun So, yes, I have a bit of a bath culture in my house LOL.

Team Shower! I can’t wait until we renovate our master bath and ditch the bathtub once and for all! Bathtubs aren’t comfortable to me at my height (a Japanese-style soaking tub that you sit in, with the water up to your chest, would be more my style, but alas I have never had access to one of those), and I am usually in a hurry to get clean and get going. If I want to cuddle up with a book or magazine, I will do it on the couch with a cozy blanket, or in bed, not in the bathtub!

My area struggles with water shortages – not Australia bad (from what I’ve heard), but enough that filling the bathtub just for pleasure seems terribly wasteful and expensive, especially when you throw in a proper shower in order to get into the water already clean – totally hear ya all about soaking in one’s own filth after a long day, yuk! I think the last time I took a bath was in Florida about ten years ago. I remember rather liking it, but not enough to feel I’m missing out.

I just barely fit in our current tub – I can soak my legs or my torso but not both at the same time. If I had ever had a tub that was big enough for me, I might be tempted to Team Bath, at least some of the time (cold winter nights). I do still take a bath occasionally, though, because it’s a lot easier to shave my legs there than in our tiny shower stall, which is barely big enough to turn around in.

I rarely have time for baths, but they are such a nice treat when I do. That said, a shower can be wonderfully refreshing and relaxing as well, so I think my vote has to go there.

Wanted to add to my comment (way up there now) that while I’m still totally on Team Shower, I do have an outdoor hot-tub and very private property, which I much prefer to the tub in terms of soaking in hot water Not sure my outdoor hot-tub would count towards Team Bath though.

Bath! I run my bath water while having coffee or working out. I enjoy a nice 10+ minute soak in the morning. I’m not a morning person, so it really helps wake me up. I also feel cleaner after bathing than after showering, though I will shower if I’m in a rush and don’t have time to run a bath.
