WIW: another try with floral loafers--and the verdict: keeping!

Yesterday I posted an outfit with these new floral loafers, trying to decide whether they fit with my style well enough to keep.
Today's outfit feels much more like me, and I'm leaning toward keeping the loafers. I'm still going to keep them inside the house, though, and wear different shoes when I go out.

Here's the outfit:
Black skinny raw- and angled-hem jeans (Paige, Hoxton); v-neck boxy knit top in a woven-in stripey print of burgundy, black, blue, and cream (made by me), silver hoop earrings and silver rings choker, eggplant boiled wool coat secured with a decorative pin (made by me), floral printed suede loafers (Ron White), olive tote-style bag (AllSaints).

I do like these shoes on you , and I bet you'll soon love them for comfort and ease. Nothing like a slip-on shoe to make the day easier.

This whole ensemble is awesome.e-- the loafers fit right in and feel very "you" in this context -- they are edgy loafers! And the dark, almost brocade, floral feels very current. Keepers I'd say.

Thanks, Angie, yes the doubts are vanishing. They are a splurge for a wildcard, so I don't want to make a mistake.

Thanks, Bijou! The weather has been really good for it lately. (It's not especially good in wind or in much rain, though with an umbrella, it can work in rain.)

Your Hoxtons look amazing. I am wearing mine today too, but have not decided on the best shoe for them. Today I tried Lucky pewter booties and later, grey sneakers. You have inspired me to try loafers. I have grey/taupe with a lug sole and EF lug sole slip-on sneakers in black, greys and white ( look like a loafer). Your floral looks like you and fab with the jeans and rest of the outfit. The boxy striped top is a work of art!

Thanks, Joy! I'm so happy to have inspired you! Aren't the jeans comfy? I took mine on a recent trip--wore them on the plane.
I shortened my jeans, by the way. I just cut along the same, or similar, angle, and they frayed again after I washed them.

I, too, never doubted the loafers. As for the whole look: Interesting that you feel this is more "you." To my eye, you looked even better in the outfit you showed earlier this week (light blue coatigan, plaid shirt, fab jeans, big hair, everything ...)

A big yes from me too! Both on those stunning loafers (I smiled when I saw them pop up in Finds) and on this outfit (FWIW I really liked the first outfit too). The lug sole, the dark floral pattern, the chunkier style, I think all of that makes them quite Sharan-esque, and they are so perfect to add unique & subtle textural and visual interest to outfits. I vote keep!-)

This is fantastic, Firecracker. It's hard to see the detail of the shoes in the pic but they look great.

I'd love to find a similar look in a bootie.....I like that the effect of your loafers is subtle.

RobinF, thanks. Boiled wool is a pleasure to sew--go for it! Here's the pattern I used.

The loafers look fab, but when you said they were a splurge, I clicked on the Find. I can see why you don't want to make a $365 (plus tax?) mistake! Since the style is great, we can move on to comfort and fit: Do shoes ever give you problems like slipping at the heel or pinching a particular toe? I've found that wearing footwear inside doesn't catch ALL the problems. . .Since these are suede, they may stretch a little. But do you think they will be okay at the heel?

I am not a loafer gal at all, but DANG! These babies look great on you. I am just playing devil's advocate above, since making a mistake at that price would kill me since I'm not a 1%er. Or 2%er or anything near that.

Donna, I know what you mean--it's really hard to judge shoes by wearing them in the house. And loafers are a slightly different style for me. I do have some other loafers that are comfy, and I do wear ballet flats easily--but still, these are different. So, yes, I'm trying to assess how well they're going to work fit-wise. They seem fine. But I did have a high-top sneaker issue this past spring, in which I had to donate a nearly-new pair because I just couldn't get them to work on my foot. I'm a little leery now of un-tried brands and/or styles. That said, these do feel good enough that I'm just about ready to wear them out of the house (equivalent to "cutting the tags").

I hope the best for you. I am glad they seem to be working for you fit-wise.

Shoes are hard. I too am leery of untried brands/styles. No matter how much I "test" shoes, it is not until I start wearing them for every day, I come to understand how they really fit my feet. I must step differently when I am active.

Sharan I have been too busy until today to go on the forum much. I love this second outfit especially your top you made, so great. In the first outfit I wasn't sure the cardigan and shirt went together style-wise. The loafers look great with both pairs of jeans.
For me, the flowers are too dark and not obvious/maximal enough, but I see you like that subtlety
