This post is for Team Black & White. There are countless ways to wear the neutrals together in the Spring or in transitional weather. Wear black on the bottom and white on top, or vice versa. Wear a column of black with a white topper, or vice versa. Wear a column of black with white footwear, and vice versa. Or sport a black and white pattern with footwear and accessories to match.
This collection shows lots of examples.
Here are some smart casual outfits ideas that might inspire you. Feel free to sub the black for dark blue, and the white for cream, ivory, tan, stone, or a very light pearl grey.
1. Black Separates, Pattern, and White Shoes
Combine black bottoms with a black and white patterned top. Throw a black topper over the lot. Finish off the look with white footwear. These loafers have a black sole, which effectively picks up the black in the outfit. You could wear black footwear too. A white bag to match the shoes could be a punchy finishing touch.
2. White Suit and Black Support Act
Add a black top and pair of shoes to a white pants suit. This suit looks more like a stone or very light grey, which can be “your white”. The boots look fab, and so would a pair of loafers, pumps, dressy flats, or sneakers. The colour of the suit is gorgeous with the salt and pepper hair of the model. The black eyewear effectively picks up the black of the outfit.
3. White Jeans and Gingham
And last, combine a pair of white jeans with a black top, or black and white graphic tee. Top things off with a black and white gingham jacket or coat. A grey and black plaid topper can work well too. Black loafers match the top. Silver, or black and white shoes are another way to go. Add jewellery, watch and eyewear as desired.
