Evaluating an item at home allows you to reassess its comfort level and assess how well it fits into your wardrobe. You can ensure that the colour and silhouette work with items you own, fits correctly, and is not unnecessary duplication.

There are exceptions when items can’t be returned, like when they are bought on final sale or while travelling abroad. In these cases, use your prior experience, be extra discerning, and take your time in the fitting room. If you’re unsure, do not commit.
