And now for something that isn’t style, but is somewhat style related. I don’t enjoy ironing, but I do it because I like the polished appearance of well-pressed clothing. I will absolutely re-iron an item before wearing it so that it looks perfect. We recently had to get a new iron and ironing board and I’m very happy with the choices we made.
- Rowenta, DW8061, Professional Steam Iron, Stainless steel soleplate, 1715 Watts, Zen Blue: German Rowenta steam irons are my favourite, and this new-to-me model is the best I've ever used. It glides over fabric like butter and instantly presses out creases. Results are fast and very crisp. It's a bit heavy, but you don't need to re-iron areas like you do with lighter irons so it all evens out. Pricey, but a quality product.
- Mabel Home Extra-Wide ironing Pro Board with Shoulder Wing Folding, 8 Feature, with + Extra Cover: This is the best ironing board I've used. The wide and spongey surface area makes ironing less awkward and speedy. The board is big and quite heavy but very stable. You'll need a larger spot to store it unfortunately. Read the rave reviews.
An extremely good iron and ironing board make the world of difference and, dare I say it, can make ironing a more enjoyable chore.
