It's been brutally cold here in most of Canada for the past week - to the point where I'm not even looking at the forecast anymore. Fashion has taken a back seat and the puffer comes out. I don't wear one that often , only when it's really, really cold, but I did buy a new one this winter on a complete whim one day when I spotted it on a rack during The Bay's annual coat sale. The more refined cut and pink lining hooked me, even though it sure wasn't on my list of things to buy this year....so I'm impulsive, what can I say? It's usually sunny when bitterly cold, but it clouded over today and has looked perpetually 4pm. Ugh.

I also decided that my boot game needed attention, and picked up a couple of new pairs from Brown's , one of which I'm wearing here with Motto skirted leggings (still going strong after several years) and a newer CM sweater. Fighting extreme holiday bloat and weight gain due to this crazy broken arm but reframing the conversation in my head as the reality of the body healing and adjusting to less movement and energy output and not cutting caloric intake sufficiently (oops) . I swear I've gained 10 lbs in 4 weeks. Blech.

I was reading the going-grey thread started by ---- ( I can't go back and check or I'll lose my typing here) and included a pic of my hair before I coloured it super blonde in a fit of frustration last week. I hate it right now, and wish I had left it alone. I can't seem to get it right with my hair lately ! This is a tough time of year, isn't it?

After a week -and -a- bit of reflection on how I fit into this forum and how I can contribute positively here, I'm giving it another go.

Comments, weather jokes, hair commiserations etc, always welcome xo.

coat - Novelti (Canadian company - really good coats - with a silly name)
skirted jersey leggings - Motto
