Shorts my way: wiw 5.22.20 - YouLookFab Forum

Here are three different looks for this pair of shorts, plus one that I didn't photograph:

I wore these out to run errands, including a quick drop-in to see a client. This is pulled-together enough to see certain customers on unofficial business . Hair is a little sketchy for a work day (second day hair which only looks ok for a few hours) but it's hot and windy and I decided not to fuss over it. I went with the camo jacket today but liked all of the options .

Shorts - Jag Nina Bermuda - this is their second summer, and I wear them frequently. I've changed into a linen t-shirt for the rest of the day at home, but will keep the shorts on 'til bedtime

sleeveless olive/bronze sequinned top - Cream
camo jacket - Club Monaco - verging on vintage, which is how long I've had it
long denim jacket - Tribal
not pictured but was an option: olive green lined linen blazer - H&M
earrings - N&S
lipcolour - Chanel Palette Essentielle in Rose Naturel (lipcolour , highlighter and concealer compact )
scent - Replica - Spring Blossom
suede wedges - H&M - new fav shoes of the season
bag - not shown - olive Coach convertible top handle/shoulder strap

These are all dynamite, Lisa. Wow, you've got some chic shorts outfits. I think the jackets (or cardi) make the looks, but I can also see wearing just the top in hot weather. The shoes, the shorts length and silhouette, and your great hear and jewelry add a lot of style.

Are you kidding? You look brilliant in shorts! I'd wear them all the time if I looked like that in them. (Well, not in Winnipeg winters, but...). Love the long over lean look with the jackets. That denim one is really unusual and interesting -- I like it!

Perfect shorts and outfits - love all the pieces and styling! Camo jacket - is a fav ( I want one but may settle for a camo shirt ) and cardigan is just fab mix of colors on you!
Hair looks good - I wash mine looked that way on a second day .

I love long shorts. Think they look really flattering.

Seriously , they are so easy to wear . No worrying about upper thigh exposure , thighs sticking to chairs etc , or , accidentally flashing someone as happens when in a skirt . You get the freedom of movement you get with pants without the bulk and heat . A little self tanner , careful shaving , and away you go !

Thanks my friends. I really felt good today in this outfit, and I'm glad it resonated with a few of you. I cannot say enough good things about Jag shorts. Maybe the way to make shorts work for anything other than the backyard is to have that third piece (sweater, jacket, etc). It sure helps me feel more put-together.

You look so chic! These are all fab. I can't decide whether I like the camo jacket or the long cardi best--maybe they are equally awesome. The shorts are perfect in every way--length, taper, etc. I've never been able to get Jag to work for me--seems like they require a waist. Anyway, gorgeous all around! Your hair look great too--always so polished!

I definitely think the third piece helps. (Doesn't it always help?) Also, footwear. But also, you wear them especially well.

By the way, I have Wit & Wisdom shorts that are much the same!

You look fab. My favourite is with the camo jacket. I have similar shorts and I have a new-ish sleeveless camo jacket which I will now try pairing with mine (when it warms up on the Black Sea). I think your earrings and choice of shoes make the look polished - love it. This polished casual is so the look I want to achieve - I am getting there mostly.

Star - all the way from the Black Sea! Cool! Carefully chosen earrings, shoes etc with casual outfits has been my way of making sure I don't too masculine. With short hair even as a teenager, I was hyper-aware of not looking traditionally attractive. Glad those days are behind me.
