This exercise makes me realize I neglected to take pics of some of my most favorite & frequently worn outfits this year. But what I did photograph shows this was decidely the Year of Jeans for me. I have never been so casual, huh?
That said, looking back on the year, if I could just pick ONE favorite, it'd be pic 6, which is a dress. Which hardly seems like an outfit! A fab dress is so easy. I guess imagine that dress with the Burberry in pic 4, and the uber comfy black lace wedges, and you have an outfit?
This exercise also makes me realize I am selecting more in terms of favorite items, rather than outfits. I don't know if that's good or bad. I'm going to say "good" as it means I have a lot of individual items that I love, that get a lot of use, over and over. Coats and bags and shoes and scarves, bottoms and tops.
pic 1 - the AG Nikki's, which unfortunately are a tad too tight at the moment. I had a lot of fun wearing these the first half of the year.
pic 2 - just shows part of an outfit - in the Spring I adored pairing leopard booties with the blush Coach bag. I also got a lot of use out of the BR trouser pants for work.
pic 3 - more jeans, but these also don't fit at the moment. Shown with a lightweight B&W scarf that got a ton of wear this spring/summer. And snakeskin booties, which were fun to pair with the blush bag too.
pic 4 - best investment purchase of the year: the Burberry.
pic 5 - these Sloans were a wild card for me. I wore them more in the spring/summer. I debated bringing them out for xmas this year....
pic 6 - my favorite dress of the year. So reliable at making me feel fab, no matter what my weight fluctuation. Not just the fluid cut but also the pattern & color.
pic 7 - another favorite dress. Not just the green version. This is the RL dress that I went overboard & duplicated in a few colors with sleeves and without-- with no regrets. The black version I wore constantly for work.
pic 8 - my favorite summer dress. Cool & comfy with a forgiving fit. Self-lined for extra structure.
pic 9 - ultimately this turned out to be my favorite dressy outfit, I think because it combined something old (the brocade coat) but also because I went darker with my hair and I thought it worked well with the gold. Worn with the black RL dress.
pic 10, 12 & 13 - some favorite outfits for business travel. #10 is my favorite blouse; works great with jeans too/partially tucked. With Theory cascading cardigan, a true workhorse for travel. #13 I have only worn this blouse once so far, but I am predicting it'll get a lot of play going forward. I am drawn more and more towards this lovely shade of blue and want to add more in the spring. #12 top proved great for airplane travel.
pic 11 - these R&B sweatpant jeans. LOVE. I love the top too - the shade of blue - but there's something about the fabric I don't like (too staticky) so this is on list to upgrade.
Favorites not shown - because I didn't photograph or don't have a good photo: VC tube skirts (striped & ruched). And AT tuxedo jacket.
