I am nearly halfway through my month-long challenge and have still managed to stick to my main goal of not repeating outfits exactly, as well as my bonus goals of not repeating items within a week and adding at least one accessory to my outfits each day. I am really enjoying the focus, intentionality, and creativity that this challenge is bringing, it’s making getting dressed a lot of fun.

Here’s what I wore this week:

Monday (1): Teal velvet skinnies, light blue pintuck popover, light blue Aran duster (, black tall boots for outside). Basically just trying another iteration of last week’s teal and light blue color scheme.

Tuesday (2): black skirt leggings, gray tunic sweater. I wasn’t feeling well this day so went for my softest, coziest clothes. I put on a couple of rings though so I still get bonus points for accessorizing!

Wednesday (3-5): gray cropped raw-hem straight jeans, rose silk tunic, pastel fair isle cardi, black stompy boots. This was probably my favorite outfit of the week. I’m obsessed with the juxtaposition of this East Asian jacquard fabric with fair isle or Nordic patterned knits. I think I will repeat the top+sweater combo for an upcoming evening party for my professional organization.

Thursday (6): mid-wash skinny jeans, fuchsia button-up shirt, fuchsia/burgundy cardi. I am not *really* feeling this shirt right now to be honest but I am feeling tonal looks.

Friday (7-9): lavender velvet jeans, plum tunic sweater. Speaking of tonal looks, here’s a column of purple! Ok, and things are getting serious here folks — this was the first day of our VERY cold cold snap here in Seattle. I am wearing my warmest Heattech underneath this very warm sweater. I went to dinner with my sister-in-law, and we decided to *walk* to the restaurant! (About a mile each way.) So I bundled up lots — second pic in this set is my outdoor accessories. Because the cowl neck of my sweater was bulky, instead of adding a wooly scarf I decided to try adding a silk scarf *inside* the cowl for extra warmth (third pic), inspired by Chris987’s thread on layering outerwear. I liked the result!

Saturday (10-11): gray Icelandic pullover, black corduroy pants. I am wearing TWO layers of Heattech underneath this very wooly sweater! I am also giving you the outside version of the outfit (I did a bunch of errands in the afternoon — combination of driving and walking) — my version of minimal and neutrally coated. I don’t have a neutral toque or bag, so this is as neutral as I get!

Sunday (12): black ponte leggings, black cashmere knit skirt, black/blue/white Nordic pullover, big black cardi. I started out with just the leggings but was not warm enough, so added the skirt over top! I’m really pleased that even in these unusual weather conditions, with a little bit of thinking outside the box (and a LOT of Heattech) I’ve been able to avoid repeats. I’m more than ready for things to start warming up a bit tomorrow though!

Ok, I’m not sure I have a lot of deep thoughts to add this week, just trucking along. Thanks for looking and I’m grateful for any observations you care to share!
