After years of neutral palettes at Banana Republic, there are several non-neutrals in their collections this season. This has made many clients (and me) happy. As much as we love to wear our neutrals, it’s nice to refresh with our favourite non-neutrals too. Many items are on sale.
The Fireside Sweater is worth a second glance. It comes in ten colours and two patterns. It’s extremely lightweight and feels heavenly against the skin because the fibre content is half merino wool and half cotton. It’s a good option for those who overheat in woolly knits, or are sensitive to wearing wool. It’s cropped, but not too cropped. It works well with skirts too. The sleeves are longer, but you can fold over the cuffs which looks quite nice. I have the citron.
Banana Republic continues their wonderful merino wool and cotton fibre content with beanies and triangular scarves. They come in three colours. The beanies feel super soft against your skin. The triangle scarf is made of the same fabric and feels gorgeous around my eczema-prone neck. The shape doubles up as a wrap. Handy! I have the beanie and scarf too.
Their Lightweight Cashmere Crew-Neck Sweater is very lightweight and comes in several patterns and solid colours. The deep lilac has been THE winner because jewel tones have been scarce for several seasons. It’s a very pretty purple. It’s longer, but not too long. The sleeves look tight on the model but aren’t in person. The fit is fluid but not oversized.
Last, the Cotton Velvet Puff Sleeve Top is dramatic, festive, alluring, and easy to wear with dressy black bottoms. Lovely quality velvet. It comes in plum, black, and navy and there’s a party at the back. Click the link to see how playful this item looks with shorter hair, or long hair that’s tied up.
