When Angie posted this ensemble Friday commented that I had exactly one yellow top. Truthfully it is from my to be decided to sell pile for spring, so now is the perfect time to try it out. Without further ado;

1. Attempt to follow guidelines. The shirt sort of makes me look like a yellow block, which is why it is in the to be decided pile in the first place.
2. In comparison, a picture taken moments later with the same jeans with a different top worn as a base for several jackets I am considering. The shoes are also keep/sell. (I would not actually wear this outfit as is.)
3 and 4. No sooner do I announce I am a no fringe person than I find this vintage, super fringy jacket while thrifting. Will fringe still be in this fall? Because I will not have much chance to wear or sell it before then!

Any and all comments and suggestions most welcome. This month is spring cleaning!

I really like all of these. They are very different.
#1 - Soft, natural, flowing boho quality. Love the cognac leather touches. You look like you could be headed out to the countryside to pick wildflowers.
#2 - Feels more modern. Espresso at street cafe in Paris. The shoes up the "modern and sophisticated quotient" and probably the tone on tone also gives it that modern feel. It almost looks like it could have a great tailored jacket thrown over your shoulders. Or a silk scarf.
#3 - Love the fringe. And I would also make that comment "Fringe isn't for me" and then ten seconds later I would find one that I love. I wish you had taken a picture with the yellow top but given us the front view. I'm sure you can create lots of fab looks with that jacket. I'm kinda jealous of that fringe. Truth be told. Nicely done!

#1 I agree with your decision to let this piece go. I think it's a combination of length (needing to be shorter or longer) and design. I think the yellow color is not the problem.

The pants look so much better with this top. This looks like a Zara top from last Spring? If so I have it in white and blue. I wore the white one quite a bit last year, so got the blue one when it went on sale. But now have never touched the blue one, it is still NWT. Which is a perfect example of why I need to use caution when duplicating. The pumps here look to be in very good condition, and I kind of like them with these jeans.

As for the fringe jacket -- I absolutely love it on you! I have a fringe clutch that I got 3-4 years ago and I enjoy it as it has been, well … a fringe trend … all these years. I don't think it's so overplayed to the point where it will be over in the fall. That is exactly what I love about fringe trends. If they don't go mainstream too quickly and massively, they have longevity. Think of harem pants.

The color of the jacket is also fantastic on you.

You have such a pretty smile! And you can actually wear the yellow quite well. But I agree this top needs to go. The shape isn't right for you, or the pattern. In contrast, you look spectacular in top #2. I was going to say, iike Denise, that it looks like the Zara top?

I confess to being so fringe averse that I cannot comment fairly on the jacket. I do think the colour looks fab on you and if you are likely to wear it in the fall, why not keep?

I like that flower-power top -- the length is good on you and the airy, happy print suits your smile. How does the jacket look over it? (I see a peek of it in pic #3.) You could have a late 60s/70s groovy thing going on there. Not costumey, just fun.

shevia - that yellow top seems great for Israeli summer. I do however understand why you are not sure about it.. Have you tried it with leggings or ponte pants? As for the jacket, I think it looks great on you, but unable to comment on the trendiness of fringe in general.

Nice pics. I think the cornflower blue top looks awesome on you. I like the fringed jacket, and think it is fun. An easy way to wear the trend.

I think the yellow top is not right too, a combination of the pattern and the shape.

oh i think leggings or ponte could save the yellow shirt! something sleek on the bottom.

Meant to add that I love those shoes in #2. Wear them and stomp on. Love the color of the blue top, but the mid-length volume seems off with the boyfriend jeans. Is it half-tucked? I see that you're planning to wear it with jackets, so of course that changes things. Outfit #4, also yay -- you seem to have a big personality (along with the big smile) to carry it off. Your edgy hair makes it modern and intentional. If you had long center-parted hair, for instance, then it might be a fringe too far ...

Great comparison. I like the yellow colour on you, but #2 is more interesting in terms of sleeve, hem and shorter length to showcase the jeans. Fringe jacket - I'm on the fence, but that's just a personal preference. If you love it you could wear it with style!

I'm not a fan of the top in #1 - it isn't the colour for me it's the print.
Love #2 on you the colour & the cut are wonderful.
Not sure about the jacket - it looks a little boxy in the photos. If it is softer & has more drape than the photos reveal then I say keep & try

Jaime, you are right to let go of the yellow blouse. A cooler neon yellow is perhaps a better fit with your complexion - like what merwoman is wearing here. Also, the style is too flirty A-line - you need anguar drape:

Ah. What a difference #2 is to #1. THAT'S the Jaime we are used to. It's a great outfit actually - despite the fact that you would not wear it.

YES. Fringe will be around for Fall. Absolutely. Like the concept of the jacket - but it seems a size too big.

Just enlarged pic #1 and realized the print isn't a floral at all ... maybe I saw floating petals and imagined flowers. Disregard flower-power-based advice! I do like the shape for a hot summer day.

I also thought #1 was floral pattern. That's why I though of picking wild flowers. I still like it.

Eh, it leaves the impression that it's floral,whether it is or not Not Shevia-enough in my mind!
I also love the coat but find it too big/square. Too bad...

Thank you all so much - I have found your replies so helpful and interesting that you may be submitted to more keep/sells in the near future. The yellow top is out and the fringe is going to be stored somehow. The shoes need to survive a walk test before I can decide about them and the weather isn't quite warm enough yet.

Denise you got it! It is the very top - also bought on sale. I think I have the white one too, and never wear it! That color blue is one of my favorites. Interesting you mentioned the color of the jacket - I was pleasantly surprised to see that it worked on me.
Suz agreed the shirt will go, and yes, the color is the interesting lesson about the jacket for now. (and thank you :-))
Gauche the top's color works nicely with the jacket but I don't think I am flower power enough to do it justice - even if it is not exactly floral!

What a difference a top makes! I agree the you look entirely fabulous in #2 and not your usual fab self in #1. The shoes are really neat; I vote keep, if you think you'll find ways to wear them. And the jacket looks fun, though a lot of fringe. I think a fringed bag would be easier to carry off (bad pun, but you get the idea).

Let the yellow thing go - it's just not my idea of you. On the other hand, the fringe jacket is yummy! I wanted one of those when I was 11 and still do.
