I absolutely adore the black, white and light blue ensemble Angie posted this Friday, and commented on the post that I am going to try to do a week of it. I
could also put together some outfits very close to the ones pictured. I am posting 6 versions I have worn in the past 4 days, halfway through the week. At this point I am trying to decide if I still want to do light blue for the remaining three days or switch it to some other pastel for variety.
Here are the outfits:
The first outfit (#1) was worn this Saturday 3/28, for a kitty fundraiser event. I obviously had to go with my light blue kitty shirt (J Crew), and basically tried for outfit 1 in the ensemble post with the inverted color scheme on the top: light blue top and black topper. I wore the silk shirt with my white jeans (AG), black knitted merino moto (Loft), black&white lace slip-on sneakers (Report) and white and black belt (Express). It was so cold that I had to top it off with my black puffer
but did not take a photo of it.
The second outfit (#2 and #3) was worn the same day in the evening for a dinner with a friend. I switched the top half of the earlier outfit for a very close copy of the
left version of the first outfit in the ensemble post. So the top was a black cross over blouse ( Max Studio), the topper a light blue leather moto (River Island) and
the belt studded black (Steve Madden).
The third outfit (#4 and #5) was worn on Sunday 3/29 for running errands. It is a version similar to the on the right of the first outfit in the post, with patterned top and light blue topper. It consists of pastel patterned Ted Baker knitted top, light blue leather moto (River Island), white BF jeans (J Brand), black belt (Steve Madden), black & white loafers (Kenneth Cole) and white & black cross body bag (BR).
The fourth outfit (#6 and #7), was worn yesterday, 3/30, to work. It is very similar to the third outfit in the blog post. I have resurrected an old pussy bow CM blouse that has been sitting in my closet unworn for quite a while. Since the blouse is sleeveless, I layered it over a cream long sleeve tee for warmth, as it is still too cold for sleeveless. I tucked the blouse in the light wash flare J Brand Love Story jeans, added skinny white studded belt ( J Crew) and pointy black cutout booties (Carvela). The outfit was finished with a long black vest (AT) and black/white satchel bag (BR).
The fifth outfit (#8, #9 and #10) was worn to work today, 3/31. The weather was
gorgeous and sunny, it finally felt like real spring! The outfit was built around the color block light blue/black blouse with pleated back (10 Crosby by Derek Lam) that is perfect for this ensemble. I added white/black split skinnies (Rag&Bone), white patterned cutout booties (Jeffrey Campbell) and black leather moto (Kenneth Cole Reaction).
The sixth and final outfit of this post (#11) is what I was wearing earlier tonight to meet with a friend. I took advantage of the warmer weather to go bare-legged for the first time this year in an outfit that is supposed to be very similar to the second
outfit in the blog post. I do not own black culottes, so I went for a visually similar piece of full black skirt in floral eyelet lace (NY& Company). I added a white graphic knitted top (Helmut Lang), cropped faded denim jacket (AE), black/white ankle strap mini wedges (Kelsie Dagger) and silver satchel (Rebecca Minkoff).
All the outfits were worn with my two favorite accessories, silver/rose gold watch and blue-grey sunglasses, both by Marc by Marc Jacobs. I am very sad that the brand does not exist independently anymore, as they made some gorgeous accessories.
As always, all the comments and suggestions are welcome!
