WIW: UWP Formula, pearls, and struggle with pants

1) The best short indoor topper I have is this old F21 ponte moto - it's one of those F21 finds that far exceeds the usual low quality of the store. I've paired it here with an EF tunic, Lysse suede leggings, and Shannon's boots. In reality, I won't be wearing this topper to work as I think it's a bit much even for an admin day. But I could easily throw it on for after-work activities.

2) H & M tunic (just saw they have more patterns now), ponte skinnies, OTK boots. Bonus kitten checking out the fluttery hem!

3) Vince Camuto pants from NAS, BR tunic from consignment, twisted pearls. I didn't love this outfit, primarily because of the way the pants fit. I would say they have a classic fit, which feels frumpy to me. What do you think? A second kitten is growing out of my leg here.

I like the white pearls on the black shirt in #3. I think the pants look fine but I know what you mean about some trouser styles feeling frumpy and boring. #1 and #2 are great. I love the thigh high boots.

Are they still kittens? Will they get bigger?

They will be a year old in a month... I'm not sure how much bigger they will get. They are at least part Maine coon but they are quite petite, though furry. There are just two of them but it seems like a hundred - there seems to be a kitten everywhere I look!

Outfits #1 and 2 = slam dunk. Fantastic!

Outfit #3 -- I don't think the pants are frumpy, but the are more classic -- and less "cool", for lack of a better word -- than your usual skinny pants. Why don't you try them with a different shape top? How about a cropped boxy top?

I was excited to see how an Urban Warrior Princess does pearls. How could it be anything other than wonderful?

I am going to agree with you. I am so used to seeing you in more streamlined bottoms that these "classically" styled pants threw me for a loop. They are great, but I don't think they rise to your usual standard.

I agree - first and second outfits are fantastic. Love the printed fluttery tunic too. I don't know what you do professionally, so am curious why the moto jacket outfit would be "too much" for an admin day.

The third outfit seems too conservative for you - and I totally know what you mean about classic fit pants feeling frumpy. I am having major, major difficulty finding a pair of interesting black trousers that are not just a straight dress pant. That aren't $600 . I have become obsessed with this issue and it's driving me nuts. Maybe I need to chill out until they just magically appear one day. Anyways - top and pants #3 need different partners for them to look more "you". Wear the ponte moto with those pants, for example. I know though - once frumpy, always frumpy in my mind. I feel you

The more I think about it, the more I just don't like these pants on me. They feel utterly blah. My sister bought the same ones - she has a curvier figure and they look fantastic on her. Oh well, live and learn.

I love that F21 jacket. You inspired me to conduct a search and recover mission through the F21 store to find something similar. Mission NOT accomplished. Oh well, you look great anyhow. I agree no 1 and 2 are superior to no 3. I would try no 3 with a shorter top.

Yes concur with the above opinions. In theory I love classic trousers but I struggle to make them work. I actually think you need to embrace the classic aspect with a silk shirt and stunning pumps to make them work best. But that is not your main style.

I love 1 in particular- looks fab on you.

Ha, they seem fine to me! I think that outfit 1 is so stylish, though, and fabber on you.
But it would be "too much" for my work environment, so at times I wonder if part of my work style goal is a form of blah? !

Uh, please explain why you feel the ponte moto is *a bit much* for work (asks the one who just bought a black fabric moto, a black fabric moto vest, and a silver pleather moto to augment her black pleather moto vest).
