I decided to wear the trousers outfit to the baby shower today. I went with my fucshia knit blazer for a pop of brighter color. My fuchsia watch is a perfect match, and I thought this was a great opportunity to wear this fun purple stone ring, which is difficult to wear to lab. As expected, there was a whole range of dressiness from wrap dresses to jeans+tee at the shower. It was pretty cool actually; you could tell that everyone just wore what they were comfortable with and it really reflected their personal styles. For example, one woman was wearing a nice sweater dress with hose and tall boots, while her wife was wearing jeans and a tee, and both looked and felt very comfortable and appropriate. The moms to be (my friend who is pregnant and her wife) were both wearing black trousers and dressy printed tops, also very in keeping with their personal styles.
Anyway, I really liked how this turned out and got compliments on it. I think the purple Dansko Noris are outta here though unless i can figure out how to make them not crush my toes. My feet slide forward too much (insoles made it a little better but still not very good) and my toes smush up against the front. It's possible I need a half size which does not exist. Bummer.
Bonus shot of my new haircut, which was much needed and which I got yesterday. Same inverted bob and purplish color (hard to see) as always, although it's a little shorter in back this time. Last picture was taken right after I got back from the stylist so it's kind of poufy as it has product in it. You can see in the other pictures that it's back to normal after brushing out the product and sleeping on it. It has not been washed yet (better to let the dye set) so it's not quite in its normal state yet.
H&M tee, Suoli pants (via Yoox), Tinley Road blazer, Dansko Nori shoes, Maxx New York bag, gifted ring, Ted Baker watch.
