WIW: New cognac booties!White/cream. + green trench for Mary.

The new cognac booties as mentioned here :http://youlookfab.com/welookfa.....irt-or-not , arrived yesterday. They are insanely comfortable! The inside is lined with a deliciously soft plush lining and the sole is really flexible and heel height very manageable. I'm keeping them even if I don't feel right wearing them with a skirt :D. Anyway, for now, I need to mull over skirt ideas, so today I put on my white jeans instead and dived straight into wearing the booties. I went for plenty of soft edge with white jeans and cream and green spotted fuzzy sweater. I also accessorised with my new cognac belt by Calvin Klein, bought at SSIF from Macy's. All was topped off with my olive green trench, which was apparently admired by MsMary during SSIF I also added a pinterest picture which I've wanted to emulate for a while and was my inspiration for my outfit, see #6.

Very nice! Gorgeous booties, and I love the new trench. The dotty sweater is also a fav of mine (I love polka dots!). Those booties will look terrific with a skirt too!

Thanks Karie! Actually the trench is about 3 years old. All the other pieces are new or just a couple of months old. I went through a spell of not wearing the trench much and then I decided I wanted it shorter, so I added the pleating detail around the hemline to shorten it.

Gorgeous boots! They look so nice with your hair. Bookending effect. You look lovely in olive green. Have you thought of tying the belt instead of doing the buckle up?

Thanks Style Fan! The belt doesn't really have enough length to tie, but I have a minor preference to using the buckle anyway. Glad you like the boots.

Those booties are awesome. I like that they look like an oxford with pants. I also think your outfit is very well thought out. I like that the color of the dots matches the booties as does the belt. Super cute.

These are soooo perfect on you Diane! I wasn't sure because I'm so bad at judging shoes that when I first saw them I thought they would be a departure from your style, but they are not at all. Love how they bookend your hair too.

Diane, this is a beautiful outfit on beautiful, soft edge you. So glad those booties worked out, and wow, do they ever bookend your hair successfully! I think these boots would look amazing with a skirt like the one below. Which I'll bet you could sew in a snap.

Now THIS is the kind of white-jeans look I love! You look absolutely perfect here - the sweater, the boots, your coat, your hair colour - all fantastic. Flattering length and fit on the jeans too, which is tough to achieve with white jeans. Way to go!!

Yay Diane, you found your booties! The shade of cognac is beautiful, and the laces are great to get the exact fit you want. This is one fabulous outfit, sweet lady. I adore the cognac with the white jeans (and can definitely see the new booties work with skirts as well), the polka dot sweater is so fun, and you know how much I love your beautiful trench coat. LOVE the booties! I have a very seimilar pair of knee-high cognac boots and I love them and wear them all the time. I think these are going to be real workhorses for you!

love the booties, they look fab with your jeans! i was going to say you would wear them with skirts, but be careful not to look to "little house on the prairie", but then realized that that book/TV show would have no cultural meaning to you. so instead i'm just going to say i think these would work with skirts, but it needs to be a modern cut in a current lenght.

Ha ha! Actually kkards, I grew up with Little house on the Prairie! It was on UK TV all the time. Loved it! You can be sure I'll not be going down that route of style with these boots

I love this outfit, Diane--everything is just beautiful together and on you. The new booties are super fab. I really had a hunch they would suit your style, and I'm glad to see they do! I agree with others--perfect bookending wiht your hair. You'll look immediately pulled together no matter what you wear with them.

I was admiring the gorgeous trench, thinking, wow--that's unique, love the details. And then I thought: Oh my, did she make it??? Because you just don't see a trench in that color with those fabulous tucks. Then I read that you added the tucks--how clever and skilled you are! (I'm imagining trying to deal with the front facings and the lining--and it's exhausting just thinking about it.) The coat is a great length for you, and I bet you'll get lots of wear out of it now, with your customization.

Glad the boots worked out! Love the styling here, especially with the olive trench (what a wonderful color combo it makes with the white and cognac). The hem shortening trick worked like a charm, this length is perfect on you. I have no doubt that you'll be able to come up with some skirt outfits.

The booties are fab and will work great with skirts. Somehow they feel very "you"
