The Matisse dark red booties arrived yesterday, and, well, I just had to wear them. I'm about ready for cooler weather, and we were not exactly having it, but last night I was going to a live music show (Spoon! Britt Daniel is one of my music crushes) in an air-conditioned venue, so I decided to debut the booties.
The outfit is really, really simple. AG Tomboy jeans, black tee. But the accessories are everything. The hardware-embellished belt, my red plaid clutch, and the dark red booties help lift the basic tee and jeans out of the doldrums. It's kind of fun that both the booties and the purse are pony -- they are different reds, but I think they work together fine because they're not right up against each other.
I'm actually not crazy about this tee and have another basic black tee with a V neck that I like better, so this one might go. This one is not quite as drapey and flattering as my other one. Otherwise, a high happiness factor.
