Thanks so much, everyone! It's been easier than I'd anticipated, really, to adapt to this new climate. Being forced to acknowledge the reality of it has me dressing better for the weather than I ever was willing to on equally warm days in Colorado.
Suz, I'm starting to feel quite comfortable with my mix of choosing pieces from small makers and conscious B-corps, wearing what I have joyfully and often, and adding statement pieces mindfully and minimally when I find the right ones. I'm certainly still making mistakes, but they're fewer and further between.
Angie, my favorites are #2, #3, #7, and #10. I can't help it...a black dress is my fallback comfort zone. I'm a little tired of the Eileen Fisher widelegs after almost a hundred wears, but every time I see them in photos, I come back around to them. And I just adore my new duster. I also wore it over #1 and #8 for the chilly mornings.
JAileen, it was 93° the day I wore #10 (yesterday). It felt lovely to put on a breezy dress and eat a popsicle outside.
lisap, what a kind comment! And thanks for encouraging me to keep the jeans. They're already pulling their weight.
chewyspaghetti, that would be so much fun!
bj1111, thanks! I have found that small, sustainable designers are generally really good at dresses!
kellygirl, the dress in #3 and the one in #5 are actually the same dress. It's a substantial black linen.
slim cat, that's funny! I don't really see myself as much of a statement jewelry wearer, but I guess both the mala in #5 and the tassel necklace in #10 do have that vibe.
Irina, it helps to have only a small temperature range to contend with here!
Synne, I don't know about master class, but thank you! I'm blushing.
UmmLila, I'm happy to have finally figured out a corner of my house that works for photos.
Star, thank you so much!
Jonesy, I worried at first that the backpack felt a little small for my body size, but I was won over by how lightweight it is. It's perfect for a water bottle, phone and charger, wallet, sunscreen, keys. I could probably squeeze a book or scarf in as well. A day's necessities!
