WIW: Sliding into Spring via slivers of Dark Floral

Hi YLFers --

It's been feeling like Spring around my way too!

While I'm enjoy seeing you all rock the lights and brights, I'm more a deep and dark shades type who just puts a "toe" in, ha.

I fell for a floral silk flounced-cuff blouse a year or so ago and it finally turned up on secondhand on Poshmark just as warmer temps surprised me.

Cost per wear dropping quickly with 3 outings in 2 weeks...all variations on this as I still need to see if I can find good ways to reign the blouse in enough to wear solo.

[Currently have most of SP/SU budget tied up in alterations so any perma-changes might have to wait!]

ps Imagine me less orange (thanks floor!)

pss bought these Botkier boots during a sale last year and was so impressed with brand's comfort

I love that top. I was just sitting here thinking, Yes, Spring has Sprung, But I’m Not Totally Feelin’ It. It’s still cold and rainy. This top is really the perfect answer.

Hi Taylor, Roxanna, Janet, and Mainelady -- thank you! As you can clearly tell, excited to have found this one.

Bucking the bootie trend but for days when it's still kinda cold I love my lighter boots. Of course even protected suede makes me wait for days when the forecast holds no surprises....

Rachylou -- I know, right? Normally we have months of that, but while many parts of country are under horrible conditions we're getting sun -- had to switch to the taupe boots. Sending warm rays your way.

Brooklyn -- thank you! Have been looking for a dark floral at a price I wanted to pay for a few years now...seemed like you cornered the market on them! The boots took a few years to turn up too so I feel you on that (yes, why?).

Shevia -- big thank you -- some days and lighting better than others! Those Charlie "girl" ads were some of my favs so compliment taken as meant!

Nemosmom -- It felt like a cheesy romance novel when I found the one that got away in someone else's "trash," ha!

Suntiger -- My tiny closet pics really showed me that "brighter on me" doesn't equal "bright" haha. Sometimes I get envious of shades others can wear, and sometimes I get...dark floarls! Hope you've found yours.

A great score and I love your maximal look with the dark/moody floral blouse(love them, too!) The taupe knee high boots are great change from the all blacks (I only have), wow!!!!

That dark floral blouse is gorgeous on you, Vix. Super score! I also love the taupe boots you're wearing with the outfit. So much so, that I decided to track them down, and darned if The Rack didn't have one lonely pair of size 10s left in the taupe. They have a 16-1/2 inch shaft, so may be uncomfortably tall for me, but I thought I'd give them a try. Fingers crossed.

Lyn -- thank you! so glad we have lots of moody floral lovers around here for eye candy! I wore the same outfit with black boots / micronet tights on a rainy day but do love the change-up. Back to cold and rainy today....

Kate -- thank you and good luck...hopefully they're meant to be yours! [Last year I got the last sale-priced pair in my size so it's clearly your turn.]

Shaft measurements are notoriously bad. I just measured mine and in a small size (6) get 15.5 at the heel and about an inch more mid-sole. I'm 5'4 and only have 17" of real estate from heel to knee bend so I would think you'd be fine from a functional standpoint...I walk distances in these.

Love the elegant and rich floral on you! I often feel like wearing my spring items as soon as possible, but like you, I'm still feeling my boots and am lightening up slowly, with lighter layers, a bit more color, and a bit more pattern.
