The minute I saw the ensemble post last Friday, I knew I wanted to pair my old white floaty blouse with these new lace shorts I bought recently at Loft. I haven't been feeling like wearing this blouse recently (in the past I wore it with crops and tube skirts) because it was feeling too voluminous and poufy, but I think this ensemble has given it new life. Somehow over shorts the voluminous shape seems to work well.
For the record I am wearing this ensemble to work today. I don't usually wear shorts to lab, but this summer we are in a new lab space that is super hot so everyone is wearing shorts. I like that the lace fabric of these shorts is slightly dressier while still working with the boho vibe of the outfit.
The other photos are a couple of other outfits from last week that I photographed but never posted. Both are typical summer outfits for me and consist of pieces you've all seen many times before.
ETA: Looking at the photos, I'm not sure I like the grinning here (the shorts are a bit more high waisted than I'd prefer). To be fair, it is less obvious IRL because of the movement of the shirt. I wonder if I should untuck my camisole - it would still have a grin line but it would be lower/better proportioned. What do you think?
