WIW: Patchwork denim & pattern mixing

I got the jeans recently via Yoox and I love them. I realize some people will probably dislike them intensely, and that's okay :). I actually haven't worn them yet--I will wear the outfit on Saturday when I drive to the nearest Nordstrom to meet Sveta for some NAS action. I am so excited to be up-close and personal with Sveta's Footwear Bonanza!

#1: Patchwork jeans, See by Chloe via Yoox.com, Gap chambray shirt, weathered silver belt from Target (old), gray peeptoe booties from Cheap Monday.

#2: I am amused that even the back of the jeans is asymmetrical (one pocket is just a flap), though my rearside will be hidden by my long shirt--the beauty of the semi-tuck!

#3: Wore to work today for a meeting. I like the hip knot action; again, may not be everyone's cuppa :). Elizabeth and James silk print top, via Rack.com, J. Crew cotton skirt from a few years ago, same booties.

#4: Close-up of the pattern mixing, so you can see the bright indigo in the shirt (makes more sense with the orange that way, I think).

Frank feedback always welcome! I was thinking I would try to take some pics outside this summer, just for a change of pace, but it's just been too hot! Maybe in the early fall.....

I LOVE the patchwork jeans, Jonesy! K-word worthy for sure! It's so fun to see you in something tight. Love the shirt! The crazy jeans needed to be paired with a classic shirt I think - at least that's how I would style them. Perfect juxtaposition in my book. I guess you are a shirt gal after all - because shirts work so well on long necks High five!

Sensational! I was skeered when you said patchwork but these are subtly so. I had envisioned something totally different. They look great with the semi-tucked button down. It seems like a perfect pairing! Gorgeous pattern mixing with the pencil. I love that kind of cornflower blue of the flower with the orange skirt. So chic! You look amazing as usual, Jonesy!

ETA: OMG, the hair is fab too. You and Aida are killing me with your new cuts!

Thanks, everyone! I know these aren't necessarily the easiest outfits to like, at least in terms of what is typically flattering :).

I'm glad you recovered from your fainting spell, Angie! I appreciate your comments so much. Interesting about the pairing of the jeans with a more classic top--I hadn't thought about it, but I guess I gravitated toward it instinctively or something. Also appreciate your thoughts about the hip knot and the hair :). My hairdresser was on maternity leave for two months, so things had really gotten out of hand and I was wearing it mostly in a ponytail. So now I am enjoying the short lightness of it!

Thanks, Alicat, Kellygirl, Zap, Jamie, and Victoria! Nice to know the jeans aren't completely alienating to everyone but me :). Kellygirl, were you imagining patchwork like a quilt, or like those patchwork madras plaid shirts that places like J. Crew sometimes have? That *would* be a bit busy, even for me!

Miss Vee and Bionda, you should go for some pattern mixing and post the results in a WIW!!

Jeanne and Shannon, thanks, and yes, I am so lucky to get to hang with Sveta and see her giant mountain of footwear! I can't wait. Her hubby will be along too, so maybe he can take lots of pics to document the event :).

Ohhh those patchwork jeans are awesome!! The back pockets being asymmetrical is SO fun. I love it with the faded chambray shirt and the booties, such perfect styling. *laughing* with Kelly. I was thinking of those patchwork jeans that were all the rage back when I was in, er, elementary school or junior high. I can't remember - but it was the 70s. Do you remember them? Anyway, I was relieved that they were not those. You look GREAT as always. I love, love, love, the skirt with the knotted shirt.

BTW, looks like the heat and humidity are very good for Mr.Plant - it looks much bigger than back in March.

Jonesy I don't think I would have looked twice at the those jeans in a catalogue on on the rack, but wow they look fabulous on you. And your pattern mixing as always in inspired. You and Aida are rocking the curly bob. The shorter look on you is gorgeous.
