Elizabeth -- this style is 3 years old now, and is a knock-off of the Isabel Marant Dicker. The toe is quite rounded and the relatively wide vamp gives a sort of "flower pot" effect on the foot. I think the current styles tend to be sleeker, a little less "western" influenced, and either pointy or almond toed.
But, having said that, this bootie is without question one of the most comfortable I've ever had, especially at that heel height, and having worn them last night for a long walk, there is no way in creation I'm giving them up yet!
I do feel a bit guilty that they don't get a lot of wear. It's because they're really a warm weather bootie. You can wear them with socks or hose, but they're best with bare feet (believe it or not) -- and if you wear with socks or hose, you really need wide leg pants because the shape of the boot means you can't pull the legs over. I guess I could tuck INTO the bootie with super skinnies, but I don't care for that look on me at all.
Anyway, in our climate this pretty much relegates them to May-early June and September. Feels a bit indulgent to have booties that are good for only 10 weeks a year, but hey. I already own them.
