Suz I can see why you love this color. It is truly a wow color on you! You look fantastic - I really like the scarf with this too.

If you will pardon a shoes muse, regarding the booties, they do not look dated to me at all, and you see new versions of this to this day. What they don't do (nor need to in this case) is bring the outfit from borderline to current. As I see it, shoes don't always have to do the main work, but rather can be supporting players, when you have a great outfit like this one.

I love this color, also. But, It is wool (sad face).

Suz, this is the perfect shade of red for you! And it pairs so perfectly with the denim shirt.

I think the booties still look good. I like what Shevia said: they don't bring the outfit from borderline to current; I feel like they are kind of neutral regarding the currentness of the outfit.

Love the colour, and the scarf is so Fab the way you have draped it

Gorgeuos mix, Suz, and so very you. I love the booties too (maybe because they look a bit like mine). The dark red is definitely your color! Yes, I think tartan could classify as a neutral, or at least a core classic.

Suz, YLF!

PS: I was looking for inspiration to wear booties (my first) with pants/skinnies, and your outfit has provided me just that.

Gorgeous, both outfits from both ladies. Your chambray shirt bridges the crisp, summery jeans and cozy cardigan beautifully. The booties and the scarf seal the perfect Autumn outfit.

I love this color combination. I do this combination sans white in burgundy pants, blue top, and taupe accessories - it works so well

Such a beautiful color on you, Suz -- I see why you had to follow Parsley's lead. It's a great outfit, and the booties look totally current to me.

Well, then we should thank Parsley, shouldn't we? You look lovely in this new sweater. The booties, handbag and your hair all match which perfects this outfit. BIG LOVE!

I love this colour combination, and you've executed it perfectly. I had missed Parsley's post, so it was a treat to pop over to that to see how she'd styled it as well.

So, I'm curious as to why you might think the booties are dated. They look like perfect little booties to me, what could be dated about them? What am I missing? Or is it just that you've had them for a while so perhaps they don't feel "fresh"?

Elizabeth -- this style is 3 years old now, and is a knock-off of the Isabel Marant Dicker. The toe is quite rounded and the relatively wide vamp gives a sort of "flower pot" effect on the foot. I think the current styles tend to be sleeker, a little less "western" influenced, and either pointy or almond toed.

But, having said that, this bootie is without question one of the most comfortable I've ever had, especially at that heel height, and having worn them last night for a long walk, there is no way in creation I'm giving them up yet!

I do feel a bit guilty that they don't get a lot of wear. It's because they're really a warm weather bootie. You can wear them with socks or hose, but they're best with bare feet (believe it or not) -- and if you wear with socks or hose, you really need wide leg pants because the shape of the boot means you can't pull the legs over. I guess I could tuck INTO the bootie with super skinnies, but I don't care for that look on me at all.

Anyway, in our climate this pretty much relegates them to May-early June and September. Feels a bit indulgent to have booties that are good for only 10 weeks a year, but hey. I already own them.

I am in love with the color of that sweater on you!

That Marcy is such a gorgeous stylish inspiration. And so are you, Suz. I LOVE the white with the burgundy. Looks so fresh. Of course, you had me with the white jeans. You look mega fab. Report booties look plenty current.

That cardi is getting lots of love with my clients. A true winner and nice way to wear cards for Fall. Loving the ice view especially with the high-low hemline. xo

White, chambray and dark red. Brilliant for transitioning into Fall! I wish I could pull out my cardigans. It's mid-90s here. Still.

The color looks great on you, I think you will get a ton of wear from it. Both at home casually and for smarter occasions.

Cute cute cute! What more can I say? I can't quite copy but I can be inspired by this outfit.

I can do this! My cardi isn't quite as luxurious, and skews a bit more purple, but I have all the other elements. Perhaps on Monday!

P.S. I didn't have time to read the whole thread, but I have noted catalog models wearing layered socks (often two pairs) peeking out of booties. I made a mental note of it, but don't have pics to show.

It's such a great copycat! Loved it on Parsley, love it on you! Great cardi!!!
