WIW: Olive and Black twice - YouLookFab Forum

Once again it's been ages since I posted. I have a few to catch up on, but was as always inspired by a Friday Ensemble. I have exactly 2 olive items - pants and a sweater (and one was pulled from the donate bin).
1. Casual Friday (and more shoveling) - Gap skinny mini pants (going back in donate as I realized after they pouched out into unflattering jodhpurs that's why I had them there in the first place), BR stripe tee, BR cardigan (going in the trash as it is a pilling nightmare after only 2nd wear) and my trusty Sorel Tofinos. I changed into tall black equestrian boots at office. I would have preferred a longer sweater, but none of my black jackets worked.
2. Hanging out recovering from cold and trying to salvage what's left of house after kids have been here due to snow for more days than they were at school in the last 3 weeks. BB tunic button down (new- mine was a sale item but the find must be a newer version?), LE Canvas crop sweater, J Crew matchstick jeans in black and black booties.
I enjoyed trying something different and it was great to shop my closet for this, but I'm not drawn to Olive for me.

Well I quite like you in olive skinnies; totally fun with the furry Sorels. #3 is a fun silhouette, but I kinda want to see the cropped part even more cropped. Would it work to fold the end under a few inches or would it not stay put?

I think #1 works great, especially with Sorels, and doesn't need a longer sweater at all. In #2, I like the white tunic but think it may be too long and/or contrasty under the cropped sweater.

WOW. I love the way your furry snow books bookend the colour of your hair, Jeanne. Super cute look despite the pants going back into the donate pile.

And #2 is great. Although you don't like olive, it does like you back. Feel better soon, and hope that Spring is on the way.

Another vote for #1 -- and lots of love with the Sorels with this look. Very well done!

You did great with these outfits! Very cool; I wouldn't guess you were not drawn to olive. If you're not that fond of olive and black, I think you should give the olive a try with burgundy or rust or another red. Angie also had an ensemble with olive and red some time ago, and with your hair and coloring I think it would be a stunning combo on you.

I think both outfits look great! That's too bad about the pants, they totally work in the first outfit. I would also like to see the shirt in #2 cropped a little bit more, but it looks good as is.

Awesome looks, both of them! Olive really looks good on you, too bad you are not a big fan of them. I like the cropped over long in #2 very much.

I really like both these looks but #2 is my favorite. I like the cropped sweater over the white shirt. Too bad the pants don't work but after giving them one last try you won't regret that you donated them.

Two great looks. I'm a big fan of olive and it really suits you. The two different silhouettes are great. I have a minor preference for #2 with the cropped sweater.
