I am really sorry to have posted on the fly and not come back for so long. We ordered the tub/shower and just as I was posting, the delivery guy called to say he was on his way. By the time we took care of that and had dinner ...
In the original I mentioned that my first thought was to ship them back but when I tried them this morning I was really pleased with the fit. Most boots are quite loose around the ankle up to where the calf muscle starts and these ones felt slimmer and more fitted. I thought they looked pretty good fit wise and the color which originally threw me a bit was perfect for Angie's ensemble. Thanks to Angie, I gave them a test wear.
Lisa, Stylefan, Smittie, Carole, I should have mentioned that the flash made the back part of the boot look much brighter than it is in real life. I am attaching a find from zappos. The color in this picture is much more realistic. I do appreciate the honest opinion though and the two tone was one of my concerns.
Unfrumped, yes, the colors are more like your bag, which is gorgeous by the way.
Thanks Lisa, Diana, Aida, Deborah, and Una. Una, the blue back is a stretchy fabric but doesn't look like denim. It also doesn't look like the usual boot gore but a bit more like a heavy suede.
Thanks Suz. I checked and they are about 2" shorter than the SW 50/50 and the Bay has them in black. They are Franco Sarto but don't include the name in the description. I added the find from the Bay since they don't have the name on it.
Sharan, I did as you suggested and have grey, blue and black dresses, a grey skirt and a greyed down purple skirt, and black and grey skinny pants (3-4 pairs). I was also thinking of Angie's cobalt and olive ensemble so will try the olive pants and take them into fall/winter if it works.
I might wear the second pair today to test out.
