WIW Khaki and coral (inspired by Angie's olive and pink)

I fell head over heels in love with the olive and pink combination from Angie's blog post (February) and have been so keen to try it!
I recently bought these pants which are a greyed-khaki but, alas, I have very little pastel pink at present. So I paired them with a coral top which I have been loving over summer!
In terms of silhouette I guess this is a variation on the 'skinny jeans and long boots' formula.
Would you change anything? Thanks for sharing your keen powers of observation!

I have a pair of pants in a similar shade and find that they look good with bright colors (love the coral top combination). I also like the way you layered the short jacket over the longer top.

I love olive bottoms and consider them a neutral, so really I think most anything goes, especially pastels! The outfit proportions look perfect to me and your boots (boo...it's still cold enough here for boots too) bookend your hair. I wouldn't change a thing.

Love it! And taking notes as I have a coral drapey shirt and a denim jacket. I Just need the olive trousers.

I think this outfit may become a rolling transformation!
Subtract coral top and add white singlet and lemon pumps....
Subtract khaki pants and add full black midi skirt.... And on, and on...

I think it looks great! I did a similar thing a couple of weeks ago. I wore a pair of olive skinnies with a white cami and a coral cardigan as a topper, plus a pair of black riding boots. So, very close to the colors you have here! It was an outfit that gave me a very high happiness quotient. I hope your outfit made you feel fab too!

Gigi- snap! on the colour palette! Coral is a fun colour to wear, isn't it! It does make me feel happy!
Lantana- As do I! The outfit combinations unfold (for want of a better word). It also reminds me to use what is already in my closet, rather than constantly crave new pieces.
The pants are from Witchery. They are cut very slim in the leg (just in case you are thinking of ordering). These have diagonally placed zips on each leg; they also have another pair which is slightly more green/olive (rather than greyed) with pockets on the leg.

Love it! I wouldn't change a thing. I'm a huge fan of coral with olive (or gray) as well as cropped jackets over longer shirt looks. So this outfit is a huge win in my book (and your handbag is just fabulous!)

Great outfit! I think this works beautifully. The pants look great and the top is a fresh and slightly unexpected complement.

Fuzzy - gorgeous outfit on you!! You do casual chic so well!! This kind of colorblocking can be really hard to pull off but you have the proportions dead on and it's very pretty, soft, elegant and flattering. Love the mix of colors and textures and perfectly but so subtly accessorized!! As I said, just gorgeous!

Gryffin! Thanks! I did worry I was too 'block colour on block colour' but was hoping the zip details, perforations on the bucket bag and (as you point out!) the different textures ameliorated that to some degree. Yay!

Thanks, Angie! I have used this bucket bag frequently over summer! My 'modern classic' style can look bland and dated without something 'trendy' to break it up a bit and bring it into 2014!
