This is what I wore last Sunday when we went to visit one of the museums in our area. It's a simple outfit, functional and kid-chasing-friendly, and contains the pieces I love very much. My outfit was dictated purely by the weather, which was freezing cold, so I opted for two trusted kinds of fabric that keep me warm: silk and wool.

The silk scarf is a gift from my friend's trip to India and had proved itself invaluable - it's very thin, therefore easy to layer. I often wore it tucked under the turtlenecks so it's not even seen for extra warmth without any bulk. Here, I wore it tucked in the collar of the button down.

The woolen sweater is an old purchase that I bought purely for its rich color, but it too had proved itself so useful too and my first choice when it's too cold outside.

The big scarf is my gift to myself when we lived in Ireland. It's hand woven and must be the warmest thing I owe. I love wrapping it around my neck or just throwing over my shoulders and it makes me happy every time I wear it as it reminds me of one of my favorite places in Ireland, Killarney, and Muckross House.
