Una's outfit yesterday inspired me to pull out my orphaned black jersey dress and try it with grey tights and moto boots. I added a handknit vest on top for warmth. Looking at these photos, I think I know why I don't wear this dress more often. It's just slightly too long and I prefer slightly shorter dresses and skirts in winter with tights and boots. It's very comfy though!

Tulle dress, handknit vest and beret, Uniqlo heattech tights, Frye boots.

Also, a couple of people asked me to review these Uniqlo Heattech tights when I wore them. They are indeed very warm, I daresay warmer than the leggings even. It was cold and windy today (so much so that my hat blew off and I had to chase it down the street) and I did not feel it on my legs at all. These are the "heattech knitted tights" so the material is like a micro-rib knit. (There are also regular heattech tights, which I believe are the same material as the leggings.) The waistband is pretty comfy and there is no segmented worm syndrome. They feel like standard thin sweater tights. They do feel slightly prickly at times, but almost all sweater tights do that on me (especially when it's warmer, like indoors), so I don't think I'm a good judge of itchiness.

I found them to run small (unlike the leggings, which I think run large). They only come in two sizes, S/M and L/XL, and these are the larger size, so there will be no sizing up. They do have a control top so that might contribute to them being tighter, but I also think the fabric is not as stretchy as the leggings. They do look sleeker and tighter than the leggings (although I might try to size down on the leggings for a tighter fit.) My biggest problem is that they are SHORT. They are slightly sagging in the crotch on me because the legs are not long enough to pull up all the way. It looks fine but feels weird. For reference, I am a size US 8-10 on the bottom and have about a 31" inseam in bare feet. My legs are long for my height but just average if you don't consider my height. I would say these would not work for anyone much bigger or with longer legs than me.

Anyway, hope that review was helpful! I think I am going to stick to the heattech leggings from now on.
