WIW: Inspired by Anna and MaryK

My today's outfit is inspired by Anna's socks and midi post and MaryK's yellow pants post! This is also a nod to Angie's "Try Something New" post which got me thinking about these socks in the first place! I have never owned a socks after school o_O So it was a pretty daunting task to try them!

My entire outfit started around these happy polka dot socks! I combined my yellow moto jeans with my navy top with strass detail. I actually intended to wear my navy blue heeled oxfords with these. But I realized they were way too snug with the socks on .... So had to change to my brown cut out oxfords. To bookend the shoes, I added my brown belt and my animal print shoulder bag. I also semi tucked my top to add some structure. I rolled the jeans a few times in order to show a bit of the socks. I am not very happy with the roll because it felt a bit bulky. I might get the jeans shortened before the next wear. What do you think?

Yellow pants and polka dots ... hmm .... sounds like a clown! LOL! Do you think I pulled it off? All suggestions are welcome!! Thanks for stopping by!

Hey we are yellow pant twins!!! Personally I am not a fan of visible socks. If I remove that from the equation. I love this outfit to pieces.

Love the combination of the stripes with the polka dots and yellow jeans on you. It looks very fresh and spring-like. I think I agree with you about maybe having the jeans shortened. The rolled cuff doesn't look *too* bulky but I think if it had a bit less bulk the overall look might appear a bit more polished (and I can really relate about having to have the jeans shortened to get the right effect. I have to do this with the vast majority of my bottoms.)

I love the yellow jeans and the blue top together. I kind of love the idea of the socks but it looks a bit jarring with the brown shoes. I would love to see it with the navy shoes but not if it is going to squeeze your feet!

Neel, I firmly believe there is no right or wrong.What I like needn't be what you like. You know I hate bodycon on me. But so many of you wear it with flare.
Ceit didn't like brown with this.Whereas I loved brown. And I have only worn it with brown. Check my WIW if you want. So if it feels right it is right.

True Ramya!! But I also see where everyone is coming from So I am already planning how to wear the next pair of socks better ...

I do like this a lot. And I love the fact that you tried somethign new. I would like the shoes better in yellow, but not too many of us have yellow shoes lounging around, so I thinkt he brown compromise works.

This would look spectacular with those yellow loafers Angie had in another post!

Oh wow! So I personally don't like mixing warm colors with cool, but that's just my personal bias. I do like the cut outs on the oxfords. Hooray for exposed socks!

I also think the combination of polka dots (the yellow dots echo the yellow pants, which are super) and stripes is super sweet. I also like the idea of cut-out oxfords, but like Shevia would have preferred the navy ones because those would have tied in with the top. Fantastic job trying something new, and bonus points for feeling happy in your outfit, it makes me smile too.

Very, very playful and fun. I have a massive smile looking at the photo. I like these grey and yellow a lot, the tones of each colour in your outfit are a perfect juxtaposition showcasing how beautifully yellow brightens typically dull and lifeless colour. See why I love colours so much?

This outfit has a bit more masculine vibe, probably coming from the style of shoes, yet it's unmistakably lady's outfit and a fresh styling on you personally. I am sure it's a comfy MOTG outfit too and formula I'd be happy to see recreated.

The socks are great with the pants and I love the change of pattern and tone with the top. I really like the socks peeking out of and over the booties, very cute. I think this is a slam dunk!!
