My fall shopping is coming together now that I know what to save and splurge on. Today's outfit is built around a new, extra long cardigan in merino wool that can double as a dress when winter hits. Right now, it is a perfect layer in the morning and evening, and I can see it serving so many purposes in my wardrobe through fall and winter. It can work as extra insulation under my trench and coat, and it covers wide skirts beautifully, so layering will become easier. It is super soft, very thin, and of a wonderful quality. It was expensive, but I'm sure I will be wearing it twice a week for months to come. It will be wonderful for traveling, too, as a "blanket".
I drew inspiration from the "ink, brown, grey and black" ensemble and put together a navy v-neck tee, black cropped trousers, the grey cardigan and cognac oxfords and messenger bag.

What do you think? Are the proportions ok? Was this cardigan a good choice for me? This is not a K/R post, so I hope you will support my decision. Thanks for looking! All thoughts are much appreciated.
ETA: Here's a link to the cardigan if anyone is interested. It's from Mette Møller, a Norwegian designer. They ship internationally - just ask.
