I think I have shingles…. Started on a Monday thinking I got spider bites in the office and then by Friday when they weren’t going away, it dawned on me that it’s probably shingles. Waited a little too long for the shingles vaccine after the second Covid booster—oops! If you haven’t gotten the shingles vaccine yet and are of a certain age, here’s a timely reminder! Work has been nothing short of ugh…plus aging parents and world events—the shingles trifecta. Anywho, sharing some Spring-y looks with my favorite kind of topper. Hope you’re all well!!
1. My favorite plaid dress with my oldest denim jacket.
2. Light denim toppers.
3. Old Gap BF jeans and old Max studio dress.
4. Gap tiered skirt (with Cons) and Max Studio tiered dress.

Ugh -- very sorry to hear about the shingles. I haven't had the pleasure but DH lived through them several years ago and it was not fun.

So many great pulled together spring looks here! I always wish I could wear jeans as well as you do, so those looks automatically get top marks from me! I also particularly like the denim jacket with the tiered skirt and dress.

I love light topper weather! All nice outfits...my favorites are in pics 1 & 2. We have the same Max Studio tiered dress, but mine has a black background. Great minds think alike!

I am sorry you have shingles. At least you can wear clothes. I know of a woman who was too uncomfortable to wear them so stayed home in only her birthday suit for a year with shades pulled and everything shut up.

That sounds rotten, re shingles. But your outfits are cute! Is that a jumpsuit in two? I like that outfit especially.

Oh no! I’m sorry to hear that. I am scheduled to get my second shingles vaccination tomorrow. I *think* I had a mild case of shingles last year. Went to the doctor asap and got on meds and nipped it in the bud. Early diagnosis and treatment can help tremendously! But I am prone to heat-related rashes, particularly where my bra band rubs, so a later rash almost had me convinced I had it again, but another doctor visit revealed it was a non-shingles related rash. Is your rash on one side of the body? In a straight line?

Regardless, you look great as always. I love that plaid dress!

Oh so sorry to hear! I had my shots a few years ago, and while they knocked me out, I was very glad to get them. My sister-in-law had had shingles and was quite ill for a long time.

But you look great regardless! I especially like the dark jumpsuit with the jacket in 2…so good.

Oh no! I'm sorry to hear about the shingles. I hope it isn't too bad! Joy's story sounds perfectly awful. My uncle had shingles on his eyelids. ugh!

All your outfits are so cohesive and great! Your favourite plaid dress looks lovely. The cream jacket in #3 looks like it has a pearly sheen, does it?

I had a rash on my torso for 6 weeks one summer, and attributed it to wearing a workout bra in sweaty conditions. That winter I got shingles - on my face! Fortunately I got on the meds in time, and it never got into my eye. I was prescribed the shingles vaccine - but advised to wait one year. I made sure I got the shot - one year to the date I had shingles.

I still get ‘symptoms’ along the nerve in my forehead and into my hair when I’m tired or under stress, and catch myself itching my forehead above my right eye. Shingles are nothing to take lightly.

Agreed, Carla! That’s why I strongly recommend going to the doctor asap if you think you have it. The earlier it’s treated, generally speaking, the less likely you are to have a bad case. When I had it (I think) I had a bad headache — an unusual one, not sinus related as they tend to be for me. And I felt *weird* — I don’t even know how to explain it. Kind of like a flu coming on, but different.

Oh I am so sorry to hear about your ‘sprinkle’. Sending healing thoughts and hope you can nip it in the bud.
I can certainly understand why the plaid dress is a fav, wowza! Love the detailing around the waist. Love your style!

Oh Kelly - bummer. Thanks to the good folks on YLF during the last shingles-related thread proving a powerful reminder, I got vaxxed. Just had my 2nd one a few weeks ago. Really hope your case is mild.

As for aging parents, PM me if you want to vent. (On my desk is the thrilling book Aging in Place. (Keep Them Safe, Keep You Sane). My sister is getting a copy "for her birthday" next week, too!)

I’m so sorry about shingles. As Billy Crystal said it’s better to look good than to feel good. Well, you certainly look good. I especially like the outfits in #4.

Oh no! I had shingles in January 2020 when my in-laws were visiting and I was just coming off a bad cold/bronchitis. I think that cold was the last time I got sick before starting to wear a mask everywhere, but with all the life stress in the past few years, I've been living in fear of shingles again. It's so awful, and I'm a few years short of qualifying for the vaccine, still. I hope your case is mild and you recover quickly.

You really wear tomboy and dress looks equally well. I can't pick a favorite!

Oh no! Poor you Hang in there, Kelly! We got our Shingles vaccinations a few years ago - before COVID jabs - and they do help! Sooooo worth it. Feel better soon, and sending healing thoughts.

As for the outfits - KILLER Casual Fabness with a whole lot of polish as usual! You rock slouchy bottoms, and are awesome in the boho tiers! Hair looks pretty too

You know I always love your dresses/skirts with boots -the plaid dress is so quirky! I didn't know there is a shingle vaccine available-we just have had smallpox vaccine in the childhood and ....my Dear Late Mom suffered from shingles of few times (which can be very painful!!) when elder and was NOT offered a vaccination...only vit B shots and kinds of:-((...

Sorry to hear that you are not feeling well. I got my shingles vaccine earlier this year. Seeing how unwell I was after the shots, my DH refused to get vaccinated but I’m glad I did.
