Today's ensemble post got me really thinking. I like wearing different neutrals together, but typically try not to go for too many colors as I can never tell whether it looks purposeful and modern or just like I got dressed in the dark. So I tried to be brave and put an outfit together according to the blog post guidelines. I am wearing it to work where we are having a holiday party in the afternoon, so I went for a more festive version of the outfit on the far right. I can still not tell whether it works or not, so you be the judge.
The main components are black sweater with black pleather sequins and toffee flare wool pants with subtle gold thread through the fabric. The shoes are Petty's in snow leopard that also features toffee. The coat is mixed media of ink wool and black leather, the bag also mixed navy and toffee, the hat black and the scarf has many neutrals. I am really coveting the scarf from the blog post as I think it would go perfectly with this color scheme.
So I am really curious to see if the colors work together or I went a bit over the top. I am also not sure about the silhouette of the outfit - are the crew neck sweater, flares and booties modern classic in a good way or conservative in a not -so-good way? I typically go for more current shapes. Many thanks!
