Objectively, I don't really think the 90s was a great era for style, but I have a soft spot for it anyway because that's when I was a teenager. It's cold and damp today, so it seemed like a great time to break out the 90s grunge outfit.

Plaid flannel, ripped jeans, Docs, and a slouchy beanie. Easy peasy, feels like pajamas. Bonus 90s disaffected teenager face in #1. I think this is actually more grunge than I ever really was in the 90s. My mom did not allow me to wear ripped jeans. In fact my jeans were probably always ironed.

For lab, I semi-tucked the shirt to look a little more put-together and bring a little modern flair. Also added a smile.

Question: what did we do with our jeans cuffs with boots in the 90s? Slouch, cuff, or tuck? I just let them slouch over the boots because I thought that looked best, but that could just be my 2015 sensibility.

(Gap shirt and jeans, Doc Marten boots, handknit beanie).
