WIW: Dress over White Jeans - YouLookFab Forum

I was very impressed with the selection at COS in London last month, so when I desperately needed a breezy frock for our unusually warm weather this Summer, I headed over there during the sales and came home with this sky blue drawstring dress (which was, of course, not on sale, story of my life ;-).
I like the combination of the dressy button-down collar and shirt sleeves with the playfulness of the drawstring and oversized balloon-esque silhouette.

Wore it for a casual dinner on Tuesday evening. It was cooler then, so I paired it with white BF jeans and white booties (bought in Amsterdam with Angie, crazy comfortable).

All thoughts welcome.

Such a fresh, summery outfit combination - you wear it so well. I bet the dress is beautiful on it's own, too.

That dress is a pretty, summery colour, Inge. Looks great as a long tunic on white BF jeans. But my favourite part of the outfit is those shoes! Love love love them! YLF!

I'm not a fan of dress over pants or leggings, but this outfit totally works, in my eyes, because the dress is a shirtdress, so that it looks as a tunic over pants outfit. And you're tall enough to carry it off.

Collar, shoulders and sleeves seem to fit your frame very well.

The drawstring and the slightly pointy toes rein in volume and add polish - shirtdresses can look too nightshirtly without clever details like that.

OMG, just noticed the elastic sides of the boots are light blue ? *swoon* who makes these beauties ?

Runcarla - It's very fun on its own, indeed. Quite short on me though, several inches above the knee.

Maneera, Deborah and Skylurker - The booties were such a stroke of luck. Angie, Greg and I were just walking around in Amsterdam when we passed a shoe store. Of course we had to go check it out. Turns out the store was closing down and they were having a big sale, and they had two pairs of Attilio Giusti Leombruni shoes in my size (at a deep discount). These white booties and the patent colour-blocked loafers (also super comfortable) I added below. How could I not take them home, right

I think the look is killer, and I love the boots and the shoes. I am surprised that they are AGL, I haven't seen them make styles like these before. Those loafers are great, I love the color blocking. The boots are killer, I love the white and what looks like sky blue? Oh my! It's my color palette! I wonder if those are available somewhere in the USA? these would be worth purchasing!

Woooo how fun to see an outfit of yours, Inge Smashing look! One of my favorite color palettes (which you knew, of course). Those booties were certainly meant to be, how fabulous; I love that you can also see the blue through the little perforations which is a fun little detail. The dress is a clever design and the rounder look with the drawstring pulled is very fresh. Great length (!!), do you wear it as a dress too?
