WIW DD graduation and hooding

I paired the Tahari dress with the PG Margo cross strap flats in Ocean for DD's graduation. I thought it would look better with my 2.5" heels but I was very happy that I chose to wear my dressy flats. They were extremely comfortable and served me well through all the stairs I had to go up and down without worrying about tripping.
Angie's post validates the way I felt about wearing my flats for graduation.
I also tried the Emerson Rose bell sleeve dress but it did not work because the waist was too short on me. I was glad I found the Tahari dress.
I will also share a pict in the gown, not the best picture but that is what I have right now.

The shoes were brand new and so comfortable that I could concentrate on more important things than on not slipping for example. I was very glad I wore them that day.

-Shevia, I always admire your shoes on your WIWs, I am happy that you liked my shoes as well
-Kkards, you have a very nice collection of flat shoes as I saw on your recent post.
-Harmonica, I did not bake the Linzer cookies, I just photographed them at DD's favorite bakery, I thought they looked very pretty and festive.
I think dressy flats can look great with dresses but probably not as great with graduation gowns, however nothing beats being well dressed *and* feeling comfortable so yay for dressy flat shoes!

That is a great dress+ flats pairing. You did super. I also liked Angie's post, and I want to keep eye out for my favorite flats/ dress proportions- some shoes look better with shorter, longer dresses, skirt fullness, all that, and the more example I find, the more inspired I am to keep trying.

-unfrumped, you bring up a very good point that the style of flats that works can vary with different dresses, skirts or lengths. You are so right.
I think it is easier to pair flats with dress lengths around the knee, a little above or a little below. I think you have similar PGs with the ankle strap, those look like fab workhorses. Angie mentioned that flats with a pointy toebox lengthen the leg line and are easier to pair with dresses. I think that helped with my dress.
