WIW: Copying DonnaF for the 4th

I just dyed these Dansko sandal clogs last week and have been anxious to wear them. When I saw DonnaF's look I decided to copy her. She looked so fab. I'm not sure I do, though. Although I wear scarves all winter long, this scarf around my neck doesn't feel very me. If I weren't copying her, I'd probably just carry a red bag.

I think this looks great! I like the scarf but maybe you want to experiment with tying it different ways so it feels more you. Love the clogs, how did you dye them?

Robin, thanks! I used Tarrago shoe dye. It's the consistency of cold cream. I used to get it at my local shoe repair, but they said Tarrago was going out of business so I bought some more on Amazon.

Angie, thanks! When Beth Ann mentioned these sandals, I knew I wanted them, but in a different color.

Angie, oh wow I didn't know that! I actually bought two pairs. I wanted to support a local shoe store and ordered the beige with the idea of dyeing them, but then found them in bright blue online. I felt I had to go ahead and buy the beige ones, and that's when I found out Tarrago was going out of business. I was upset that I would be stuck with a color I didn't want. Fortunately, I found a few jars of bright and antique silver on Amazon.

What? You dyed these clogs?? That is so cool! They look great - I'm very impressed. I really like this whole outfit on you : the fit of the t and pants, how you've tied the scarf, and these clogs. 10/10.

Lisa, thanks! I dyed some sandals a couple years ago with the same dye. It's kind of a cream. I use painters tape to protect what I don't want to dye.

I feel honored that I merit a copy! Your outfit looks so cute and makes me wanna see that red bag! Love the scarf as I'm a big polka dot fan. I actually put on the neckerchief because my neck got cold and I remembered my mom's little scarf. I agree that wearing one is an adjustment, but it is also a relief not to have to worry about dragging one's scarf through gravy and the like!

I'm impressed with your dye job. My silver clogs are getting scuffed so I wonder if the Tarrago would work like polish?

Donna, thanks! The dye would probably cover the scuff, but I don't know if it would be an invisible fix. It's not super high gloss. It easy to use, though. The consistency is a bit like cold cream. I used the high silver. I used to get it from my shoe repair but they told me the company is going out of business, and I had to order it on Amazon.

Donna, I hope it works for you. You might need to give the entire clog a coat. It probably won't take much because it's already silver.

Diana and Vix also use Tarrago. You can look through their posts and see what they've done with it. They were very inspiring to me.

Suz, thanks! I wanted to put together an Independence Day outfit and then I saw Donna's outfit. I realized I could copy her since I had just dyed the sandal clogs.
