Here some of the things I wore in the last couple of weeks.
#1-2 It started cold, I wore even a puffer and a light cashmere sweater. The sweater is one of the colors that I love but it’s not a great color on me, so I have very few items in it. The pants are ink not black but it’s hard to see. the pants and shoes are new this year although I showed them already.

#3. Old BR barrel leg cotton pants and a new cotton/silk sweater. Finally bought a replacement pair of Columbia sandals, been wearing it more than a decade! And my new pet - a Bao Bao!!! Thrilled!
#4. I wore it when I took my DH shopping (an excruciating exercise). The only new is my Massimo Dutti bag. I’m liking more and more bags that have an option to hand hold or carry it over a shoulder. This bag also has a long strap and a leather pouch is removable.
#5 just a work outfit
#6 &7 are not something amazing but I’m happy with it because it was my goal for the last few years to find nice casual clothes under $60 or so to wear for some chores, runs to grocery stores. Wore the dress (Uniqlo) to drop some shoes off to our local cobbler. Wore Zara linen pants to babysit my grandson. They stretched and got wrinkled but it’s fine with me, I sized up in them for more of a slouchy look.
#8 is new linen dress from COS worn to work today. A young woman passing on a street complimented my outfit
I don’t include any links as I buy things so far in advance, most of them are not available anymore.

I recently watched a video from a YouTube about different fashion styles. It wasn’t radically new but somehow it helped to sort and organize my thoughts on my own style. Maybe you will find it somewhat interesting. My style is minimal, nothing new here. It’s very close to a Classic style and often confused for one. The Classic style is crispy and more structured than minimalistic style. I’m minimal to a degree that I don’t like to call my OOTD an outfit.
I take my style into an oversized territory often and this is because my secondary style is Trendy. If I stay too minimal, I get bored. If I experiment with trends too much, I get uncomfortable and feel silly. “Trendy “ is almost a swearing word here but please, don’t take it into extreme - I buy trends but those that work with my existing wardrobe, are more mainstream and have a staying power of a few years at list. The result is blended and I think that I figured out what works for me. I might have doubts about fit and versatility but I know my style, for now anyway.
I struggled to find words to describe my style before. I knew my preference for minimalism but now I know exactly why a classic style feels less authentic to me. I tried to add Edgy but it’s not correct, it’s impossible to judge edginess, for me anyway. And it’s funny to claim for someone who shops at COS and Uniqlo. I wish I could afford some cool Japanese designs, though.
It’s important to me to know what I am, it helps me to have fun with fashion.
How well do you know your style?
