WIW 5/29: Citron, Olive & Cognac (better late than never)

I snagged a pair of Banana Republic Sloan ankle pants on sale in olive this week, so I finally got a chance to take this ensemble to work! The top looks a little more lime than citron in the photo, but take my word for it it's a nice acidy citron!

Rambling Ann, I feel like my style is getting a little more pared down. Maybe not so much because of the injury, but because I have so danged much on my plate right now. I have been in elderly-parent-care crisis mode for the past couple of months and between that and trying to nurture a newish romance, I just plain don't have the time or energy to be super-creative with my clothes. So you're seeing simpler outfits and a lot more repeats. And also after three months in flats I am NEVER going back to wearing shoes that hurt. We'll see how much of my high-heels collection that eliminates...

This seals it. I have got to find a pair of olive pants so I can totally and shamelessly copy this look. And as a veteran of the "damaged ankle" sorority, the rethink on the shoes is one I went through years ago. Yes, my shoes tend to be schlubby and not overly stylish. But I need to live pain free, so highly stylish shoes are a long distant memory.

Gorgeous! And I agree that pant length looks just right.

I think the vibe I'm seeing is a little more relaxed. Not unpolished, but not quite so strict, in a good way. And no, no more shoes that hurt ever! You look happy, even when under pressure. New house, new guy, new ankle, new parental arrangement. That's a lot! and yet you look more comfortable than ever. Like you are really comfortable in your skin, not just your clothes.
