WIW 4/28 - My utility jacket - for Ramya

Ramya posted this morning about a utility jacket, asking if they were too last season, or a viable option. I just bought this Caslon/Nordstrom version several weeks ago, after reading this post (or maybe another that featured the jacket) on Pinterest Told Me To. I've worn it a bunch since it arrived, and it's perfect for my casual MOTG style. True confessions, I bought it (and wore it) in blue before I saw it in the post, but it's not as versatile.

FYI, for anyone who thinks about hair in WIW (ironkurtin's thread here), I'm totally open to feedback This is a great hair day for me…I washed it before bed last night, slept with it in a topknot, then worked out with it in a ponytail. Could it be the sweat that's giving it the look I like?)

Ooh, I love it. The hair is fab too. I wonder if I should try that styling technique too. I think the proportions are terrific. The jacket it great too. I do agree that olive is more versatile than blue especially when you wear a lot of denim bottoms. I am still repeating that lesson--I'm going to learn one of these days. YLF!

Nice! I've been thinking of replacing mine since it is kind of snug in the arms.

And your hair *does* look good! Maybe it is the sweat - a friend of mine said she read something about celebrities saying day 3 is their best hair day after a wash.

Your hair looks great. Like Pil, I've heard people say that their best hair days are 2 and three days after they've washed it.

Thank you all! KG, I recommend the wet topknot sleep for interesting waves and decreased curling. I also use a round brush on a few straight sections on top in the morning sometimes (perhaps my method should be a post on its own!)

Pil, I think day three is great after I've had my hair done at the salon, but not when I've done it myself.

Pil, if you're looking, I'd avoid this Caslon, unless you size up a bit. I think it is snug in the arms, but I'm ignoring it, and thinking about how strong and shapely my arms are every time I feel the sleeves pulling!

Love this casual look! This is definitely one of my go to styles so I'm an admittedly biased opinion

Your hair looks great. My unruly curly hair always looks better when it's somewhat dirty (i.e. post sweaty workout or salty beach day or a few days without washing).

I actually have this jacket sitting in my cart, in blue! I'm waiting either for a sale, or fall, or to find one with contrast sleeves instead lol.
Do you think it is a brighter blue in real life than a denim jacket? I'm worried it will be too close to denim, which I'm trying to get away from.

Oh, I love it! You look fab. And I agree about color, mine is navy and I like it with jeans (which I mostly wear), but it really looks better with non denim and another color underneath.
