OMG you guyzzz! I have to keep the argyle cardigan. I just found the perfect way to style it!
When Angie posted about argyle, I became obsessed with filling the argyle wardrobe hole I never knew I had! Like LJP, I get obsessed with finding the perfect items (https://youlookfab.com/welookf.....-and-fails), except my problem is I end up with multiples! I tried on a bunch and ended up with three argyle sweaters (and argyle socks). I posted them here (https://youlookfab.com/welookf.....l-polished). Several people were wondering why I needed THREE argyle sweaters and weren't quite sold on the last grey argyle cardigan. I wasn't sure about it either, because with the trousers and Doc Martens, the outfit felt a little too masculine for my usual ladylike style. Angie encouraged me to try it with other combinations, so I did (https://youlookfab.com/welookf.....oks-and-an). I think I liked it best worn open over a dress or casual tee and jeans. I still wasn't quite sure if I could justify keeping it though.
MsMary had posted her kitty ramen tee (https://youlookfab.com/welookf.....-for-lunch) and I knew I had to copy her, because I even have a matching black kitty! Even though I already had a ramen kitties tee (https://youlookfab.com/welookf.....-barrel-le), I knew I could find room in my closet for another. I don't mind duplicating several versions of an item I love, if they're fun and fab!
So when the tee arrived from Amazon, I had to pop it on right away. And when I saw the gold in the shirt, I decided to try it with the grey cardigan, because it also has brownish gold diamonds. Paired it with my Converse which also has gold accents.
Angie's denim post about 2026 denim trends was so fun (https://youlookfab.com/2026/02.....-for-2026/). I was tickled to discover that the two-toned barrel jeans I picked up for $34 at Nordstrom checked off two trends at once!
Inspired by Angie's winter WIW post (https://youlookfab.com/welookf.....inter-wiws) where she uses souvenir totes as matching accessories to complete her outfit, I pulled out my souvenir totes from our summer trip to Japan, to match the ramen theme. We went to TeamLabs in Tokyo, and there were many cool interactive exhibits. One was coloring pictures of butterflies, flowers, lizards etc. and watching them come alive on the floor and walls of the exhibit. You could also buy t-shirts or tote bags with your creations. I got tees and totes with flowers from DD and a butterfly from DS1, as well as butterflies that DS1 and I created. (I'm wearing my other ramen kitties tee in the TeamLabs pics!).
I also had my matchy matchy black kitty and my secret matchy matchy grey argyle socks. Fun! So what do you think, is it a keeper? Has the grey argyle grandpa cardigan been rescued from the return pile?
I also wore the butterfly flower tee this weekend to visit DD. She is majoring in Forest and Fire Sciences and is in the logging club. They had a logging competition in the Bay Area, so they drove up and camped. The competition was all day from 7 am to 7 pm. She competed in multiple events, including axe throwing, pulp (log) toss, caber (pole) toss, and log rolling. We got to watch her do choker, which is carrying a heavy cable around a log obstacle course, and obstacle pole, which is running up a log with a chainsaw and cutting off the end of it as fast as you can. And two-person bucking saw, once with another girl and once with a guy (Jack and Jill). There were a lot of female students there competing, which is great to see so many in the traditionally male dominated field of forestry. She was having a blast with her friends. As an Eagle Scout, she is totally in her element outdoors. She is barely 5 feet tall but she is tough and strong. She may be small, but she is mighty! (Last pic is one that DS1 took of his big sis). I have to brag about my lumberjane--I think she is pretty badass!
